nam Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Ok, I sorta like this idea as you could put alot of machine, 9 Heads to be exact, in a very small space. As you know so often the problem in trying to locate is no where to put the machines. Space often can be the biggest reason for no getting the deal. This guy has run these things before for I think $50 each but now has them for only $25 each. I posted them on the craigslist ads for Middletown, NY. Well, I don't have any racks yet and these look interesting to me. The biggest problem from my point of view is danger of tipping over. I know other companies make spinning racks. I think Northwestern does, right? Maybe the lower machines lowers the center of gravity. What does everyone think?
lurtsman Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I've seen these before and had mixed feelings. It is very space effecient, but I'd want the shortest possible machines on top, like the A&A 20 inch tall 2inch caps.
Quarter Master Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Not knowing the weight of the bottom, I vote for the potential for tipping over too easy.I don't see how these can be any space saving because it has to be far enough out from anything so it can spin and have access.
chris in md Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 i think it would be ok until the weight distribution became uneven, which is what's gonna happen when some products sell faster than others. then it would become increasingly unstable, possibly wobbly. here's an experiment you could try, if you have an artificial x-mas tree -- load up one side of the pole w/ the branches and leave the other side empty. pretty sure you'll find the tree is unstable and it wouldn't take much to tip it over. that rack would hurt a kid pretty badly if it toppled over on them. it needs a wider base and/or it needs to be bolted to the floor...which i'm pretty sure a location wouldn't let you do. - chris
BruceRehm Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 When I first saw the picture earlier my first thought was, DISASTER. That is just my initial feeling on it. Looks like a mess waiting to happen. Bruce
vendingdelaltiplano Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 To be honest, I wouldn´t try this stand. I would be worried all the time for the stability and safety of my machines. The other day one boy pushed my NW S83 with a circular base, it could happen with this stand too. I wouldn´t risk my investment. Personally, I´d try the NW kiosk, with 4 S80 on top and 6 S60 on the bottom. The advantage of this stand is that allows to rotate the machines. http://www.nwcorp.com/products/stands/kiosk/images/image2zoom.html
nam Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 Abdon, The Northwestern certain appears to have a much wider base. I wonder what the difference is in size between the too. The one I posted at the top is probably some China important and they usually try to do things as cheap as possible letting the racks fall where they may. Northwestern has probably tested theirs and they know a child can't push it over. The $25 price sure looks good but don't believe I'd try it without anchoring it to the floor. nam
vendingdelaltiplano Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 That´s right Nam, if I´d try the $25 stand, of course I´d anchor it to the floor. About the NW kiosk stand, it has a 28" base, of course it is safer. Until I know, it comes in three different sizes that are form 1.65 m. (4.19 ft) to 2.15 m. (5.46 ft). The enormus difference is the cost. The stand, and the 10 machines cost at least $1720 us dollars. With that money we could buy 68 stands made in China.
antoniocinisi Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I priced that stand from NW once,I can`t remember the cost but it was very expensive.
vendingdelaltiplano Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 That´s right, NW are expensive machines. For example the small kiosk (3 S80 & 6 S60) costs $ 1,720 us dollars, the big one (3 S80 30" & 6 S60) costs $1,870. I have only seen the NW kiosks in big malls. Personally I like the kiosk machine, and if I had to decide for a big vending machine, I would buy one of these.
shvend Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 HOLLY CRAP!!! that is noe scary looking rack nam! RUN!
nam Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Luke, But what do you really think? lol You get 3 guesses where it's made and the first 2 don't count? nam
shvend Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 China, China, or China. Was I close? I don't know it may be China!
shvend Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Oh and I don't like that one you have pictured at all. The one I was that Northwestern has looks alot more stable. The base is for sure wider and it just looks better made.
nam Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 You bet. That small base just looks like an accident waiting to happen. nam
