I began making a spreadsheet for my future route and quickly decided that it was useless... I needed some real software.  I checked out Vend-Trak but I have a concern.  It says its optimized for IE... I tend to stay away from IE for many reasons, none of which really would be relevant to mention here.  Has anyone had any issues using the service with FireFox or any other browser?  I am also wondering how the site handles on mobile phone browsers.  Anyone?

Amall,

The best thing I can recommend for you to do is sign up for a free trial. You don't need to enter any credit card info or any other financial info. You can even use a fake name if you want.

That will give you 2 months to try out the program first hand and see if it is for you.

If after 2 months you don't feel it is going to work for you, simply do nothing and your account will expire automatically. There is no need to remember to cancel it because Vend-Trak doesn't ask for any billing info.

Just remember to use keycode "vendiscuss" when you sign up. That way if you do want to purchase the program you will get your member discount.

I just entered the world of Apple. The browser is called Safari, and the only issue I have had so far is minute. There is a very small box where you enter the number of days you would like to elapse between service notifications. With Safari, only the first digit appears. For example if I enter "45" only the "4" appears. I find it very annoying, but like all aches and pains, you learn to live with it.

I should also note that I have not explored the various features of the software in great depth. There may be other issues that I have just not yet uncovered.

Until I got the iPhone, I never used anything but IE.  But for the past few months I've used Vend-Trak on my computer (IE) and iPhone (Safari).  Like bulkboy mentioned, there are some things you have to "get used to" - for me on the iPhone, it's lines around the tables.  Usually these are hidden in IE, but for some reason they show up in Safari (even though they are coded as visible=false).

Just like people who read the same book/magazine/article/whatever and get something different out of it, different browsers can read the same code on the page and display it differently.  Even though there is a standard "language" for the web (HTML), each browser can vary slightly on how it interprets it.

We are trying to address this as things come up with, obviously, any "show stoppers" first.

Vend trak works very well with Firefox, I use Firefox for most of my browsing and seems to always do just fine.

I agree that using spreadsheets has limitations, Vendtrak has been sensational for me since I started using it.  :)
