Amall23 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I have come across some Seaga 3 headed machines for $67 with a stand that I can locally pick up. I've read the posts here and it seems these machines have a nasty habit of breaking. Has anyone had luck with them? Perhaps I could do some pre-emptive maintenance to prevent some flaws?
nam Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Amall, Hey buddy, Seaga makes more than one line of machines and not really sure which ones you're talking about here. In others words it's sorta like asking about a Ford car and is it any good. Now are you referring to a Mustang or a Taurus? See what I mean. There are alot of Seaga Triple Head machines on the market that are one body with 3 seperate areas for product. They are called triple head machines and each section is seperate but the heads do not remove seperately. Seaga also makes a couple different versions of bulk vending machines that are totally seperate round heads, each a machine by itself and can be removed, used as a single or double or triple depending on the stand and bracket holding them. This is were a picture is worth a thousand words. lol I personally do not have any Seaga machines so can't speak from experience myself. I jumped in because no one else did. Anyway, to my knowledge Seaga is an american made machine and not far from you. I think they are over in Freeport, Il., northwestern Illinois. I think they are a quality machine as far as I know. Maybe not a Beaver but I think they are ok. Maybe since I've posted my 2 cents worth someone else that owns some will chime in. nam
nam Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Amall, I just posted a couple different ads on craigslist so I could show you the pictures of the difference in the Seaga machines. Check out the Shop and Swap section for craigslist. You should see a an for Detroit with a Seaga double head, that could be a triple with another machine on the stand. Also an ad for Clear Lake, Tx. with the other style machine a Seaga Triple Head where it's a one unit. Hope this helps and tell us which style you are talking about? nam
Amall23 Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 Not sure on the style, was never told. I have an email out to him to find out.
nam Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Amall, This machine is just ok in my book. I really wouldn't want it very bad and for sure wouldn't pay his price for it. Personally, I'd rather have a U Turn or 1800vending for the same price range. The cannisters are removeable and both are nicer looking in my opinion. Both have larger display areas for the product to show to the customer. If you wanted to buy it I'd suggest offering $40 or less imo. nam
Bender Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I just installed one of my Seaga TV3000 triple head at a location to replace an UltraVend that finally gave up the ghost (the coin mechanism came loose from the screws and fell off, was lost before my service interval). After setting it up and testing it, I discovered the Seaga TV3000 steals quarters! Each coin mechanism has a drop-through coin slot for slugs and smaller coins. When testing the mechanisms, I found out that if you insert a quarter at an angle, the quarter will fall into the drop-through coin slot, effectively stealing your quarter! I'm not sure how this will affect sales. I know if I lost a quarter in a bulk vending machine like that, I'd never put a quarter in that machine again.

Bender, did you ever get a response or feedback on this comment? I'm curious as most of the route I bought has these TV3000 triple head machines and the seller didn't say anything about this problem. I've tried to do this with the one I have in the garage and I don't see the problem. Thanks, Tom
