westlakevending Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Im on the hunt for some black pipe stands. Im looking for a supplier who sells them other than a&a?
nam Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Shawn, I think Darryl has quite a few of his for sale down in Houston. I read that somewhere on here but don't remember where. Seems like he had some from changing singles into doubles and a good price too. nam
Jax Snacks Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Unless you are within driving distance to A&A or NW, the shipping will kill you on new pipe stands. The only hope for cheap stands (under $25) is to find a deal on some used stands via the web. I still have many in storage, but I actually dread the day when I run out and have to start looking again. The Tempo stand from NW is not a bad alternative for certain setups. Jax

I have tried the Tempos yet look like they tip easy. May be better off going through A&A even when comparing the 'package' price at gumball machine factory. A&A pipe stands are only 66-cents more per stand compared to what you pay for the package of TEN through gumball factory. $23.99 for 10 ($23.99 ea) through gumball machine factory. $24.65 ea through A&A...and you don't have to buy 10 to get that price. You can choose the 24" or 30" model for the same price at A&A. PLUS, you may save on shipping if you're ordering other items (product/machines/etc) from A&A at the same time. Which would then mean you're actually paying LESS through A&A than through the gumball factory package deal. I have some of the A&A pipe stands and am very happy with them. They're durable and no tipping issues with a triple set-up.
T BIRD Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Gumball Factory's shipping charges are very high IMO. They ship very quickly but the amount they charge is ridiculous.
zanygames Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I am looking for a cheap, nice looking J stand to hold 3-4 small machines. Does anyone sell something like this that is affordable after shipping? I would like to do 1-2 NW S 60's on top and two on the bottom for toys, gum, etc. Steve

I have made my own from wood. While they are much cheaper, they do take many man-hours to make. But if you have a table saw, and maybe a router and a sander, you can make some pretty snazzy stands for not much money.
havending Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 every one is listing resellers LOL. A&A will have the best price. cali and Md stock them.
sherlock Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 every one is listing resellers LOL. A&A will have the best price. cali and Md stock them. I don't know that A&A's Cali warehouse has them. Kevin at A&A gave me the impression pipe stands are now only shipping out of MD when I exchanged emails with him earlier this week. Either way...A&A is my choice for new stands.
dperry Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I know that shipping costs will increase the prices of most stands since they are so heavy. It's too bad we can't buy them locally and do away with the shipping prices. For the most part, you can get most of your pipe stand parts at Home Depot or Lowes. They sell the 1" black pipes in varying lengths, but the only part that can't be found locally is the cast iron base. Well, I've been thinking about it, and I wonder if this would work. 1) buy a 2x4 at Lowes 2) Cut 2 15 inch lenths 3) Cut notches in the center of both pieces so that they can fit together to form an 'X' 4) Screw in a pipe flange at the center of the 'X' and use that to attach the pipe. 5) Paint it black For those who like embelishments, you can use a jigsaw to conture them to any shape you wish, and use a router to round off the edges. I would consider making some of these and offering them for sale. The shipping would be minimal because the wood would not weigh nearly as much as the cast iron base, and you can buy the pipes locally. Would there be any takers?

Try one and see how long it takes you. Show a couple of pics of it. I guarantee you will have buyers for the right price buddy.
