So I've read to use vaseline around the thread base to keep away ants. But in Florida heat and humidity it was recommended to use lithium brake grease. So when I went to advanced auto parts they gave me a small aerosol can... will this work? Or do I need the "jelly" in a squeeze out tube?

Im Transporting the machines with my small dakota, I tie down the base in the back and leave the head in the cab with me. But tonight I ran into the problem of not being able to get the head on the base (xyz) I will have to check wether the base threads are stripped, or the head. (praying base) Do most of you use SUV/VAN? Leave machine empty until your @ location? Would you ride around with a full machine in the back of your pickup (tied down)?

Feels green,

Bud, if at all possible I will leave the stand completely assembled to keep from having this porduct. I would not have a problem tied the stand down in the bed of pickup if I had that option. I have tied them down on a trailer before.

Hi Bud

I don't use the vasaline or grease. I've been using Bay Leaves and haven't had a one problem. I don't like the idea of anything that attracts dirt and grease will do that. Plus, I have a habit of forgetting it is on the machine and it can be a yucky mess when you pick up the machine.

I have a couple of doubles with a screw on base and transported them in the trunk of my Camery. There's no problem transporting them laying flat. Just wrap them in a large towel or blanket so they won't get scratched up.

Bacho, where do you put the bay leaves?

In my triples I put them under the coin trays. In my doubles I loosen the base from the plate and slide them under the base.

I change them out every three months.
