New contest begins this Friday May 15th ! Everyone a winner!

We have a new contest about to begin.   This is a contest where everyone can be a winner!  The purpose of the contest is to help your fellow members find great deals on equipment.  This allows them to save a lot of money buying machines and equipment - they're a winner.  It makes the person that found the equipment a winner as well.  Speaking from experience it is fantastic to have someone post or pm me about buying the deals I've posted.  Try it - you'll like it!  You to can feel like a winner just helping someone else find a great deal.

Ok, we're all weiners, I mean winners.  The contest is basically about posting as good of deals as you can find on craigslist and ebay during the coming month and posting them in our Shop and Swap section of the forum.  The rules and all that of course are posted in the Contest section of the forum.  Yes, we do have rules. 

This post is really just to help insure that everyone knows we're having a contest.  I don't read every section of the forum, and that is one section I've skipped over in the past.  Actually, about missed a recent contest that I ended up winning.

My long term goal here is to get everyone posting ads as we go into the future.   I'm sure the majority of us likes to get a good deal and reads these ads on our own when we have time.  If you are doing that you no doubt run across ads that for what ever reason you can't take advantage of or may just not need yourself.  If you're looking through Ebay and see a great deal on steel stands and you don't need any - take a couple minutes and post them in the Shop and Swap section.  I can't see every ad and post enough ads to cover the whole country all by myself.  You guys can!  Jump in here and help the whole community with just a few extra minutes of your time.

Just for clarificiation, are we officially starting at 12:01am EST Friday, 12:01am PST Friday, 6:00am Friday?  When? 

(edit -- we also need a specific time for the end date.)

The contest will start on the first minute of of the day of the contest and end on the last minute of the last day of the contest. The time is posted on each post we make so this is how we'll know if you posted to early or too late.

My computer is stuck on Eastern Standard Time, so it looks like I will not be able to enter this contest. Every time I check, it is still three hours until the contest will begin! I guess I will check again later to see if it is time.

I'm not positive but I would guess the time of the post is from the Vendiscuss server and not your computer. Guess we might ask Steve that question? The contest isn't a sprint but rather a slow keep plugging away type of thing from my point of view. There is just no way someone can wait until the very last and try to catch up with someone that has been posting all along. Even if they tried to quickly post everything they could find they'd end up with too double posts. It's just too time consuming to try winning in the last few hours or even the last day.

Today is the 15th so we have our new contest starting today. This will last for a month so plenty of time to get started posting deals. I'm not going to be taking part and probably not posting much myself to save the deals for you guys to post.
