Your best selling best magin 1.1" 25c toy vend?

Well first things first, a little congrats goes to me right? I finally entered the world of vending. I placed 4 triples this week, 2 via locators, 2 via commission. Almost a month after buying 5. And this next one should be self placed by Thursday no commission... if I can fix the base.

But already I want to listen to the wise and move into toy vending. So now I'm looking for doubles and racks to sell gumballs and toys.

What is YOUR best selling and highest margin 1" 25c non-candy vend? Aka if you could only vend 1 product, what would you choose? (Oh and let us know where you get em)

I *really* wanted to do glow sticks, but after shipping costs I can't find lower than 15c a vend.

A&A global will get your glowsticks for less than 15c a vend.

I like blockheadz better though. Several people will swear by zoo mania/sea mania. I plan to buy several bags of them within the next few months and install a 50 cent coin mech on their head, they are just slightly too expensive to get a decent margin when you are paying 25% commission or higher.

Bud,

If I could only sell one toy and one toy only it would be a nice mix from A&A or Cardinal. The cheapest stuff they have, and I mix some self vend in it that really makes it look nice. You are looking right at $10 to $11 a bag. With the self vend I can't remember the price off the top of my head but it is not that expensive

For the best margin find a good .25 item and do it at .50. A&A has a new splat that does great and Monkey Around. In toys buying one or two bags will kill you in freight> I order by the pallet.

How many machines are you running?

havending,

Haven't tried selling a 25 cent product for 50 cents but sure can see where that would improve the profit margin .:D   Could you give us any more tips on what other products you're able to do this with?

Do you think being able to get 50 cents is because of the product or because the kids are using mom and dads quarters so they don't care if it's one or two quarters?

imo some kids would buy the product for both reasons if they really like it.

some kids might watch the extra guarter depending on thier situation.or they might like getting 2 25 cent toys instead 1 50 cent toy.

I guess it all depends huh??:P:shock:

For new vendors start with the basic Mystery/treasure Chest mix and mix in some superballs to start with.  It costs the least and the superballs drives the average cost down.

This is the best way to start until you have a certifiable high volume gravy spot or a lot of toy locations.

Nam,

I spent time in retail so I use the rules that was learned during that time. I look at the value of an item and go from there. Its easy to do with companies like A&A that use a good stright run product. You have to be careful when trying to push the price point with Cardinal because lots of their products have leaders with junk mixed in. With A&A I do Acrylic Rings,Mini Crosses,Flava Chain, Monkey Around, Splat Critter all at .50. I also use the same process In two inch in going to .75 and 1.00. The fact is prices are going up from suppliers and we are the ones paying the price so as in other types of business the cost must be passed on. Coin Star and Sega are also going up on the top and bottom.

I got the cheap mix from A&A and it was exactly that.. cheap. It had lots of plastic rings, some BB games (games with BB's in them that you have to place in the rings) and lots of colorful tiny hair bands that wouldn't fit on your finger. I put this stuff in a location and it bombed. I really really really don't recommend it unless you mix it with some other higher priced items and want to bring down the price point. I'm speaking of the TREAC1ROUND's. The interesting thing is that the cost the same as Monkey'n Around or Ninjas. So there's no real price savings there. The good thing about them is that they come in round caps.

Darryl,

If you will take and place some A&A's 1" self vend and mix in a fex superballs you will have yourself a mega seller. The treac1round is part of my mix and it has always been a top seller.

Yea, Add some self vending sport balls, puzzle balls and some neon dice and it may move better since some people will chase that stuff.

Wow! You have to be kidding. People really like that stuff and will buy it? Even if you have other stuff on your rack?

Just picked up a super bounce-a-roo were would be the best place to buy bouncy balls cheap?? And for those of you that have a bounce a roo what type location do you have it in. Help, just getting into toys. :)

The big deal on these balls is they are heavy! The cost of shipping will kill you so I'd either try to find somewhere to pick them up or order from somewhere close to you. A & A is not that far, right? Anyway, the price is only cheap if the shipping is reasonable or you can pick them up.

As far as locations a busy will family resturant will work well or really almost anywhere with kids plenty of kids.

You can try Dollar Genral or 99cent stores. I see these machines all the time, work something out with the Chuckie Cheese manager. Baby/child stores were you exchange clothes for credit or cash. Hope this is helpful g_r_vending.
