nam Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I know Summer is coming and most Vendors are thinking about melting M&M's and Mike & Ikes sticking together. Well, I'm well past that point. This is just the middle of May and we are supposed to hit 108 degrees on Monday! I'm afraid for all my Vendstars. Ya think they'll melt or just warp? At least it will only be for a day. Tuesday is supposed to cool down to only 104 for the high! nam
BudLeiser Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Stop putting them outside under glass! They should be inside stores with AC and shade Actually I doubt they will warp or melt. I'd be more afraid that they would become rigid and become prone to cracking.
davidsurvz Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I have had several Vendstars in my shed in the HOT weather and they've been fine.
BruceRehm Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 But Nam, it is a dry heat. RIGHT? How do you breathe in that stuff? 98 degrees and 95% humidity are enough for me. LOL
nam Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 Bud, Yes, this dry heat is nice. You can die of a heat stroke without even breaking into a sweat. nam
JPVendCo. Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I have a few of them I would like to throw on a fire someplace. frakin bars are hard on these things...
nam Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 JP, I hear ya buddy! I am an owner and defender of buying Vendstars. Great machines for the money in my opinion. I'm joking of course on them melting, etc.! I don't think I'd put one in a bar except as a last resort. Gotta support the steel machines for a location like a bar or skating rink full of kids. At least they're cheap to replace. lol nam

shvend Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 It will take a temp. of around 225 to 275 for several hours before the plastic will begin off gasing and warping.
nam Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Luke, I may be in trouble. My van feels like its 225 degrees when it sits for anytime in a parking lot in the sun. Of course you need to keep it locked up tight and it is like an oven in there for sure. Vans just aren't good in this heat as they're too big. Our car can cool down ok but the van takes way to long to cool down. Glad it's only gonna be 107 today! nam
dperry Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I have a few of them I would like to throw on a fire someplace. frakin bars are hard on these things...frakin' skin jobs!
Rustinm Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 lol, wow, i need to move, im in michigan and its only like mid fifties maybe 60. Im soooo sick of the cold!
nam Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Rustinm, Have Kickstart place all you're machines in Michigan. Around Thanksgiving go pick them all up and take them to Florida in a U Haul and have Midwest locate them there. Then around Spring time haul them back to Michigan. You could become Snowbird Vending. Make it a great test between Kickstart and Midwest. lol nam
