Hi All,

I am new and wanted to see if vending is for me.  My Son-in Law has a car detailing shop.  There's i no Soda or Snack machine there.  I have a chance to purchase a 5 or 8  year old Antares machine for $500.00. I saw a video on you Tube demo on the machine and looks very complicated to use.  I looked into 1800vending and they have a full-line (3) snack & soda deal for 12,100.00. I don't have credit or the cash to invest right now. They look very nice.  I would like some advice.

Thanks,

ljgregory

Run away! After spending some time reading through everything here on this forum, make an EDUCATED decision whether vending is for you or not!

Scott

P.S. After reading, if you are still interested, you can find much better equipment for a far better price, as long as you you're willing to wait a little bit (don't let "buyers remorse" kick you in the a$$!)

EDIT: And welcome to the forum! :)

You can buy an anteres machine for 100 some people give them away... they are a pain in the &$...

My recommendation is to start with a cheap full sized soda machine. Find one on craigslist and get someone to deliver it... make sure it has a bill validator on it.

Thanks for the information, I'm so glad I stumble across ths website. I have no experience with vending or what to expect. I will keep my eyes open for a cheap soda machine.

I'm new. I have also been looking at used machines and I have seen a lot. Included in what I have seen is an Antares, mechanical, combo machine. I had heard bad things about them, but the guy that was selling it talked it up, so I went and looked at it. As soon as I saw it, I knew I didn't want it. To keep it simple, they are flat out unaatractive in almost every way. I know that if I was buying a snack or soda, I would much rather put my money in an electric machine than that oversized piggy bank.

The other guys are right. There are plenty of deals out there on much better equipment.

Edit: To be nice - I'm sure the Antares machines work just fine. I just don't like the way they look.

I would like to know what would be a good brand soda machine to purchase.  I have been looking on Craiglist and Ebay.  I do not have any vending experience.  I do have a location lined up , it's my Son-in Law Car Detailing Business.  My main concern is being able to operate and the maintenence:( of the machine.

Thanks,

As far as a soda machine, a dixie narco or Vendo are the top brands, the best thing to do first is check your local phone book and see if you have any sellers of vending equipment in your area, not that your gonna buy new, but they most likely will service a machine for you(not cheap).
