JPVendCo. Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I am in the middle of refurbishing a couple of oaks. what color of spray paint most closely matches the original red?
lurtsman Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I'll be looking for the answer to that also. I have NOT had success with nail polish for this.
nam Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I've had paint matched by the computers at Home Depot and Lowes. You just take in a sample and they take a reading of it and then the computer tells them how to mix the paint to match it. Works very well most of the time. We've done this alot painting houses but never tried it with cans of spray paint. Not sure if they can do the same thing or not? nam
shvend Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I am not sure if they can do it with spray paint. I use krylon sunrise red, it has a nice finish to it. I have some machines out here drying right now that I will snap some pics off and try to get them to post. I generally don't have very good luck with that part!
Quarter Master Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Jason, I believe the bright red color on most machines is called "Circus Red".If you are going to paint the whole thing,it really won't matter how close you get to it.Might just want to pick a uniform color for all of your refurbs.
