WesternVending Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Hey Eddie posted this Locator Discussion, but here is is. This is an easy way to get an extra free location out when me or Keith send you to drop off a machine at a paid location. When you go to drop off at a location poke your head into the store next door and introduce yourself and tell them what charity you’re with and how their neighbor is participating in the vending program (built in credibility since you already doing business with their neighbor). Tell them it’s free and you'll be servicing the machine for the charity and tell them how much your charity raises with these little gumball machines (for instance the NCCS raises over half million dollars a year for children with cancer) many are impressed and are eager to participate. Try it on your next drop off and let us know how it worked for you. Keith and I have decided that we'd like to embrace this site and your success will most definitely be ours as well. As we think of little tips and tricks that we've learned over the time of trial and error we are going to pass them to you. Keith and I are not in business together we are two friends who happen to be in the same business. How the heck we became so enthused about finding gumball locations I'll never know but here we are. Quarter Master Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 That is a good tip for the newbies or really anybody.I've done this before and gotten a location of about 1 out of 3 requests.Little did I know that their are some business owners who actually dispise the next door neighbor,or as one guy put it"that F@#@@*# As+%#@..."
eddiebauervending Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Yea Islander that happend to me once when I was delivering on of my machines for my personal route the guy cussed me for knowing the name of his neighbor. It was funny stuff. but you said 1 out of 3. thats not bad. saved 50 bucks oh yeah your right about that being a good tip for newbies and anybody because I'm a dang locator and I forget to do that every now and then when I deliver my machines. some of our sugestions will be good for newbies and reminders for the vet. antoniocinisi Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I am always up for a tip on locateing.I need to improve on that.
midman128 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 great tip. I used to sell home improvements door to door and I always knocked 2 left and 2 right of an appointment or a sale. Too bad the economy is so tough now. It is also one of the things I do with my retail racks. No one usually wants to be the first with a product, but they never want to be left out on what is percieved to be a good deal either. You should always stop at the neighbors I go two right and two left adn always name drop.
