Johnny Ringo Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I have four machines and I am in the process of getting my presentation materials together. Soon, I will be installing some machines on location. I have a few questions. I know in machine manuals they all say to test the power outlets for ground and voltage. Also, they mention not to use extension cords or to use extension cords rated above 15 amps. Does everyone do this? Do you use surge suppressors or power strips to protect you machines? Can you plug more than one machine into the same outlet or will that flip the breaker? Do you ever drill holes in walls or bring some sort of conduit covering to make loose running cords look better? Thanks for the help, Johnny Ringo
mxer518 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I use in line surge protectors especially if it is an outside soda machine, and for extension cords don't use anything longer than about 15-20 feet and make sure it a good one like was stated make sure it can do more than 15 amps. I have one large account that has them installed in laundry rooms in a large apartment complex and I did run conduit up and over the ceiling since there is no outlets on the side of the rooms where the machines are. the land lord didn't mind since it didn't cost him a dime and he realizes it looks better than bright orange extension cords.
ageevending Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Just get a little plug in tester with the lights to check for ground and voltage. I use GFCI pigtails instead of surge protectors... GFCI will keep your clients from getting shocked by a stripped wire... will blow before a surge protector. Dont use extension cords... Two machines can be plugged into one outlet... should be ok. I don't drill holes or cover wires... because I try to place them where there are outlets.
