Bevmax 4 Intermittent Vend Issue

Recommended Posts

Been having intermittent issues with our DN 5800 Bevmax 4.  After reviewing our tapes it seems to hesitate on the final hook swipe (there is a very very small gradual dip), and returns home.  Sometimes it attempts it twice, but it always stops right before dropping the product and returns home.  I can run test vends all day and it works perfectly fine, but it will stop working as soon as I leave the premises 🤡 I will go and recheck the error log tomorrow, but several weeks ago I got a VEND PORT and VEND XHOME error (before I had to replace the compressor for an unrelated issue).  Any tips, should I swap the XY motors or replace the X-axis switch?  Anything else I should be looking at/for?  Thank you!

It looks like it doesn't move far enough to the right.  It then drops a little to line up (I can't remember if it trips something there or not).  Have you reprogrammed the travel at all?

I think you need to adjust the "Hook Swipe" in programming.  Press serice button twice(Test mode will appear). Press "F" for Diagnostics. Pull out left door switch. Press "0" for hook swipe. Enter 70527, press * to lock in setting.  Press Clr button twice to exit.   Test again.

I haven't touched anything re: the travel, it was working fine the past 6 years (aside from the picker cup switch getting soiled).  What's weird is that it works sometimes, and when it doesn't, it seems like it hesitates heading closer to the port door.  I can also run all the position tests with no problems, and all home LEDs show correctly.

Sorry, setting for the 5800 is not 70537 but rather 93871.  70537 is for the 3800 model.

It came with a sticker with factory swipe set to 93500, I changed it to 93871 and tested, but no change and I was actually able to see it not vend for the first time.  I returned it to the 93500 setting.

The current error codes are VEND PORT and VEND HORIZ.  I wasn't able to swap the XY motors to test but I am thinking it might be a motor issue.  Will test and update this thread accordingly.

Just to follow up and close this out, I replaced the X-axis motor with a new one and it's been trouble free the past 24 hours (knock on wood), so it seems like the motor was the culprit.
