cvending
What is the error
Ceez
3 hours ago, cvending said: What is the error When I enter service mode. It just says error 52. Assuming it means for that slot number. Also when I test vend it, it doesn't make any noise or do anything at all. I noticed that the gate/door that opens up to drop the can, is slightly pushed out. Compared to all the working can slots sitting flush.
cvending
Sounds like a vend motor is stuck in cycle. You need to get that taken care if as that will allow warm air in. That causes condensation to occur and possible freezuing of the evap coil.
AZVendor
Yup. Bad motor. Have fun changing it as you probably don't know how. People and their first machines....SMH Let me know if you need help with it but really, call a seasoned repair tech to do it for you.

I'd prefer much more to fix it myself than to take it to someone else. I'm not a pro repair tech but I've installed little things like a new card reader myself so I believe I can handle it. Can someone please walk me thru how to tackle this job. I do have the maintenance manual but I'm having a difficult time researching "how to" info on this specific machine. AZVendor
Pull out the bottom candy shelf. Remove the front door from the can module by removing screws on top of it. Be prepared to clean syrup off all door gaskets and the bottom lip the front door sits in. Manually roll all the cans from that column backwards to remove as many as possible. Remove the delivery door screws (2). Remove the three screws above that door to release the motor frame. Pull the motor and frame out far enough to unplug it. Remove the can door linkage from the motor and replace the motor. Reverse the linkage so that the door is flush with the can frame when the door is mounted. Reconnect the wires, remount the motor frame with three screws and then remount the delivery door hinge. Test the motor before putting the can module door back on to make sure the delivery door closes properly.

AZVendor
You might want to get the linkage to the vend door in case it is cracked or broken and maybe even the vend door itself just in case. Get the clips that hold the linkage together too in case you loose one or two.

AZVendor
The linkage is on the same page I linked to. When you call to order just have the parts page open in front of you and tell them what you want to add. Edited June 30, 2022 by AZVendor

Do I have to pull the candy shelf out to the restocking position (to unscrew the front can module door screws), or remove it completely from the machine ? I see 3 screws in the back right corner of the candy shelf to remove. After this, do I need to unplug the power connectors for all of the candy motors to remove the whole candy shelf from the machine ?

Is there a main power plug to unplug before lifting the shelf up and out ?
AZVendor
Hmm, no knowledge of machines at all? All you do is pull it out to it's loading position, flip over the white shelf locks and then lift the shelf out. Pulling forward unplugs the shelf from the rear connector. I was able to fix the error slot by swapping a drop switch to a new one. But my machine is giving me "oc" trouble codes for 3 new slots. I don't know why 3 new can motor have over current errors now. Any suggestions?
AZVendor
Did you replace those 3 motors too? If not they may be gummed up with spilled syrup which could trigger the error code. Was this a working machine and had you been able to vend from those motors before?

No, the 3 new failing motors are original. And yes I was able to vend from them before. I'm fixing this in the field right now. I noticed two of the can motors have been changed by someone else in the past. It looks like he rigged up the wires in a way that is not natural to the original wiring of the can motors. But when I screw everything back in place and install correctly, the motor fails and does not function properly
AZVendor
Something about the mounting is causing the motors to bind. I see the tabs on the older motor. They may not be broken off enough to allow the motor to sit flush to the plate. It could also be the screws themselves are binding the motor case up. Those look like snack machine motors which would be wrong to use. Check for the part number that's printed on the edge of the motor and search for it. If it comes up as a snack motor for any model of snack machine that could be the problem.

Part number 227 0. I have the 2 oem can motors from the link above. Do you suggest swapping the two foreign motors (with rigged wiring) with the original motors ?
