$300 - Dixie Narco 440 MC

Hello all,

I found a Dixie Narco 440 MC on FB for $300. This seller actually sold me the Dixie Narco 276 for $300 as well which has provided me with good hands on experience in regards to repairs.

I wanted to ask if the 440 MC is CC compatible and if not, is this machine worth buying and selling to a refurbishing warehouse. A few things however

1. The machine works overall really well. Compressor cools, it accepts cash, all the rotors work, except for one though as I understand that is an easy fix, and a few days ago I would have thought it was a good deal. Heck, it may still be a good deal even if it does not take CC but what do you think?

2. I found a vending machine warehouse in my city and literally 8 minutes from my house. I have stopped by the past couple of days to ask about my 276 M and they have been AMAZING with answering my questions. I literally spent a couple of hours just asking the employee as many questions as possible that would help me fix the 276 M and he walked me through every situation. I ended up purchasing a refurbished compressor for $250 that should get the 276 M up and running. If I were to take the Dixie Narco 440 to them to sell, how much do you think I would be able to get for it?

The reason I ask this is because I would have to rent a trailer to pick up this machine, and if it is not CC compatible or maybe worth the flip then I may pass on the machine and save me the trailer rental and the 45 minute drive out there.

Thank you all for your help! This forum has been a godsend!

Before you decide to bring it there and sell it, while you're there, ask them if they would buy it, they probably won't give you much only bc they have to flip it to make a few $$, and sometimes they won't bother with older machines bc the newer ones are already out.

I see. I do see myself doing business with them in the future and I would hate to ruin a potential relationship by bringing them something that may not be of use to them.

Do you happen to know if this machine accepts CC?

Thank you NYCandyMaN

I believe the 440 is the 79" version of the 368.  Coincidentally, the compressor in it should work in the 276.  If the 276 is single price, many of the parts may also be interchangeable.  However, I'm not going to advise you to keep buying such old machines.  I'm getting rid of any Dixies that are not an E series machine.

Yes, I am starting to become familiar with how obsolete the single price machines can be. I usually conduct a google search before I post on here and I seem to struggle finding what I need.

Thank you all!

Chris, the 440 is the tall version of the 368 and it can be difficult to put one of those compressors into the narrow 276 cabinet as their decks were smaller than what was put into 8 column machines.
