DippyFresh
Confused as I can't figure out what the problem is. The MCM5 Changer has change in it, noting is blocking the bill path or sensors, it still takes coins and cards. For some reason the bill acceptor only wants to work "sometimes." As in, after unplugging and replugging, whole machine off and on, taking out the little bill sensor tray thing with he little silver bar, it will work for a bit and then suddenly no green lights on the front and it won't take bills. The ribbon is seated to the motherboard well too. Strange. Anything else I should be looking for or do yall think I should just be looking for repairs or a new bill acceptor? Thank, Dip
AngryChris
Either the sensors are dirty or it just needs to be sent off for repair.
Gizmo Vending
I would try another acceptor. It would be wise to have at least an extra coin mech and dollar bill acceptor in your possession at all times. I couldn’t tell you why yours is doing what it is doing but get you a good bill acceptor from a reputable supplier and replace it and see what that one does. Vendo Mike
Are there any errors from the board or flash codes on the dbv to work from or is it just disabling after accepting 1 bill? If no errors, I'd be curious how many coins are in the mech? If only 10 of each, then you may be dropping below the acceptable threshold of change to pay. Noting noticeable from the board, stat light blinking red which is normal in service mode from what I've noticed. The actual bill dispenser light behind was flashing 2 flashes which means disabled by system. So I unclipped the sensor out and the bill cassette and cleaned the sensors on all of them and put them back in. Suddenly the light is a solid red and the belt starts stuttering along consistently like it's trying to clear a jam. so I take everything off again, blow into it and wipe it off with some rubbing alcohol. After that it starts looking like its working. Bill acceptor arrows on the front of the machine are green, great. Put a bill in to test. It take the bill, green lights shut off, screen doesn't show that I did anything. Doesn't recognize that I put a bill in, just showing the default welcome scroll text. After that I open it up and take off the bill cassette. Thee bill is about 3/4 of the way up the belt and partially still at the bottom, didn't get all the way up and the arm didn't come up to push it into the cassette. Coin cassette has spot for $1, 5c, 25c, 10c, and 25c. 5, 25 and 10 are full (auto storing), far right 25c is not (not auto storing). This is how it was running when it was working so I can't imagine it's the changer. So that's where I am now. Odd.
