CanadianHenry
Hello there, new member here. I have just recently recieved a National 432 with card reader only installed (Nayax) and I'm having some troubles. When testing the card reader, somehow a $5 credit was logged. Now the machine shows the credit, but will not vend anything. If I try a new purchase with a card, it accepts the card, but reports an error on the Nayax (no vend). The error log in the nayax system reports "Product failed to be dispensed." All of the solenoids and doors work, the operation is good in "free vend" mode, but It just won't vend with the card reader. Is there a way to clear the credit? Any tips? Thanks. CanadianHenry
Update: I was able to get it to vend finally. I discovered that you need to hold the vend door partially open to make the selection switch and you have to keep it open the whole time you are validating the card on the nayax. It's pretty awkward, especially for the lower doors. Does that seem like normal operation?
Vendo Mike
That is not correct operation. Sounds like your switches or linkage is loose or otherwise out of adjustment/damaged.
CanadianHenry
Ok, thanks. What should be the correct operation? There are no selection buttons on this machine, only the door open switches. In free vend mode, it works perfectly, all of the doors, switches and solenoids work with no problems. I was thinking it was more of a programming/interface with nayax issue....
Vendo Mike
It's been several years since I had hands in a 431 or 432 but I remember the price display's running down the middle. The reader should just hold enough on the customer's card for the highest price in the machine without the customer touching the doors. Once credit is set up, the customer can then open their door of choice and once it closes, vend is complete and credit is cleared. If you have to hold a door to authorize a card or payment of any kind, something is very wrong.
CanadianHenry
Thanks, Yup the prices are down the middle-ish beside each vend door. Maybe the problem is with the nayax vpos touch. When I start a transaction, it asks to make a selection, which I can do by opening the vend door to the stop, then it detects the correct price.... But, if I let go of the door, the nayax cancels the transaction.
Vendo Mike
Might be a firmware issue in one or both units (vendor and/or reader)
CanadianHenry
Update: So it was the Nayax! It turns out there is a setting (that you have to change in the online system) to authorize for the max amount. Once I change that, it works like a charm... just like you described... tap the card, and pick something. Thanks for leading me in the right direction.
