dsimms Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Hey I called state farm today to get a quote and they said they can not give me a quote since i have machines in bars and restaurants, I think this is goofy but now I will be forced to look other places. what company's do you guys use for insurance that you feel are quality on price and coverage, any input would be great! and you should look other places.. If state farm would have accepted you, then you would have paid a higher prem with them, then you would have with a no name carrier...with state farm, you are mostly paying for name brand... just like tide...other lower soaps will do just fine, you are paying for brand... same with prescriptions Brand/Generic and generics do the exact same thing for a lot less cost...
alyssamma Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Not exactly true...I pay $225/yr for State Farm. Be careful going with a "no name" insurance company. In many cases it defeats the purpose of having insurance Kevin
sherlock Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Be careful going with a "no name" insurance company. In many cases it defeats the purpose of having insurance Agree 100% Cheaper is not always better. Too many people just buy their policy with the insurance company offering the lowest premium when shopping for home, car, business, or any kind of insurance. Before doing this, please consider the following: If you're going to have a steak dinner, do you just pick the restaurant wth the cheapest steak? When you buy a car, do you just pick the cheapest car on the lot? Did you just buy the lowest priced house on the market when you bought your home? Did you buy the shoes your wearing because they were cheaper than all others? Making the right decision when buying insurance is as important (and in some cases, more important) than any of the purchases above. Yet, consumers will just buy "whatever's cheapest". Do you ever consider why their premiums are so low? Is it likely that they don't have enough staffing to handle their claims properly? Maybe they don't keep enough funds in reserve to take care of their customers after a natural disaster. Shop smart. You will be glad you did when you have to file a claim.

alyssamma Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I'm not sure how ins. carriers price things. For example, State Farm is about 2x the cost of what I pay Allstate for auto ins. But they are very reasonable for vending. I have a friend who lives around the corner from me. He uses State Farm for auto ins. because they gave him a great deal. He also uses them for vending and pays even less than I do. It's crazy and makes no sense. The point is, call everyone and compare. And like Sherlock said above, don't just look for the cheapest. 99.9% of the time you'll never need them, but if you do, you want to make sure you are covered.
