I don't see the add poll feature, otherwise I'd have it in here.

I received a location in Walmart Tire & Lube. My contact for drop off had the day off at the scheduled time, so someone else (Gina, incase I forget), showed me where they wanted it. Most of the employees were like "you're who?", but I can't expect everyone in the department to know. Gina heard the people being confused and came over to lead me to a location. Right next to the waiting room--and right beside the aisles of car care products.

So, how long will it last?

I've seen several come and go from my local Walmart tire and lube department.  That seems to be the place these guys get the machine placed as I see them come and go.  I've seen several, Buzz Bites, triple head, mints and nothing at the moment.  My best bet would be 1 month.  The only machines I've seen stay are the racks right up at the front when you first come in the door.  Those have to be on contract.

Is it still possible to get a contract with Walmart? I thought it would be an exclusive thing? Our library director knows the store manager at Walmart and I might be able to get an angle to get something placed. I would <3 having a rack infront of Walmart. I even have the 10way in my living room that could go there...

I believe you are going to have different managers of different departments such as the Tire and Lube that may make a decision only to have it over turned by a higher general manager or a district manager.  The contract on the racks up front at a Walmart will no doubt be on contract and probably paying 50% commission with an exclusive and specific time frame during which no body else gets in there.

I may need to check the front of our Walmart again, last I knew there was only cranes/redbox up there, and the other racks/toys/etc were in a "game room". It may merit further investigation.

Our Walmart has nothing up front in the lobby's anymore.

They took everything out about a month ago.

Not sure if they are waiting for the 'new contract' items or what the deal is.

Same thing w/ our Walmart, there's nothing up front or anywhere else the general public is allowed.  There used to be multiple racks and a crane in the front of our store, but they've been gone several months now.

not that i want to see you kicked out, lurtsman, but i'd say you've got about a month, give or take a week.

I think this is the most likely situation. I figured since MW had already acquired it for me, I'd respect their location and see how it does. If WM does the frequent kick outs, I can't fathom why MW would keep calling them when they are doing free replacements.

I lasted two weeks in the Tire & Lube Dept after getting the STORE MANAGER'S ok. District guy came by and said get this outta here!! :o

Added a poll for ya, lurts!

Here is how to add a poll from the "Help" section. Lots of good info in there.  ;)

Starting a New Poll

A poll is basically a topic with an added question and voting options, started by clicking New Poll instead of New Topic as described above. To post a poll it is necessary to fill out the Question field and at least two of the Option fields in addition to the Subject and Message fields required by a standard topic. Further options to configure how many choices the user may vote for, how long the poll should run, whether users can change their votes and what conditions must be fulfilled for the results to be displayed should be self-explanatory.

To offer more than five choices in a poll, simply click Add Option as many times as necessary.

Note that it may also be possible for some users in some forums to add a poll to an existing topic.

Check your machines frequently in that situation.  That area is a prime target for slammers and somtimes they take other people's stuff as well.  It happend to another vendor I know.  he eventually lost all his Walmart Tire & Lubes either by eviction or theft.

Jeff,

Just sent you a pm buddy.  You must have been posting this at the same time I was sending you a message.  Anyway, I would suggest you spend some time here reading until your eyes hurt.  lol  I'm not familar with the Pringles machines.  I have seen them for sale but don't know anyone that has one.  The 10 Head rack might not be a bad deal depending on brand, condition, etc. and of course trying to get him down some more on the price maybe.  Always gotta try that no matter what.

Glad you jumped in here with your first post and only 19 more to go before you can ask for an upgrade to Plus status and alot more cool info.

My wife is an Asset Protection Manager for Wal-Mart.  It seems it depends on the store that you are in and the product that is being vended.  As long as they feel the risk is low it might stick.  If they feel it will tip over or cause harm to someone they will kick it.  All of the managers walk the floor together weekly so if it sticks for a month it might stick a lot longer.

Great information. Thank You.

I have a triple in two Walmarts.  One averages over $65.00 per month.  The other averages about $40.00 per month.  They are both in the employee break room.

That's what I will ask for when I get the kick out call.
