Canadapop
I’m a snack and Pop vendor visiting your forum cuz I had the idea to put a universal coin acceptor in an old pop machine cuz it’s coin mech is moody. i have a snack machine nearby I can sell token from so that’s not an issue. I’m wondering what’s a good cheap brand of coin acceptor and will I have issues wiring it. My pop machine has those doors that open on a short timer via a solenoid
AZVendor
That is a Coinco CT-48 machine. Another useless machine that never really had a place in the vending industry.
Canadapop
Ya I hear that. But I got it for free the refrigerator works great and I really want to get it going in a quite location that’s up some stairs it would be too hard to do a full one . i took the old coin mech out last night I can see the wires I would need to connect. so are those $30 ones from Amazon the ones I want? AZVendor
Get an Imonex coin acceptor that is made to work on a single price coin mech. It will solve your problems.
orsd
Or just buy another single price coin mechanism, not super expensive. An Imonex won’t do you any good if the coin mech is flaky, as the logic of setting the vend relay is handled by the coin mech. Also, those Chinese mechs are complete trash. They’ll work for a few months then die. Would also be a nightmare to interface.
Canadapop
The vend relay is that the timing aspect? That’s the arduino part?
tblake05
Most of us here have no idea what you mean by arduino. you need to find the schematic for your machine and design the circuit yourself. As the mech you linked to may be able to be used. If it’s a generic arcade mech, it has a switch that the quarter falls onto to close. Which could provide a pulse to your vending machine credit relay circuit. buy I have to ask. Why re-invent the wheel? Forget the token thing and Just use the original coin mech and set it to 1.00. Done.
