Vendingnoob500
I'm currently trying to upgrade my validator from my snack mart 2 machine, the coin mechanism has a note "24 VOLT SERVICE ONLY" and works perfectly fine. the coin mechanism in the machine is the original model : MC - 5010 The Whole vending machine runs on 115 volts but i'm not sure if my new validator needs to be 115 Volts or 24 volts to complement the coin mechanism that came with the machine. Should I get a validator that runs 115 Volts, or 24 Volts since the coin mechanism runs on 24V? I was looking at Selectivend's Snack Mart 2 & Snack Mart 3 Mars MEI Validator Update Kit and didn't know if it would be compatible with my machine as i do not know what will work with it! Any help? super confused, just needed some clarification!
lacanteen
That's pretty old, but if I remember correctly, voltage can be either as long as mated with the correct harness. Contact D&S Vending in Cleveland 1-800-445-8383. PS: I can't believe that 5010 is still working.
Vendo Mike
If there are any DBV harnesses hanging in the machine, take a pic and share. If memory serves, the power harness for the DBV goes directly to the USI's power box and that socket is labeled with the voltage being supplied. Seems like those used makas that could be updated to MEI with the correct adaptor harness.
AZVendor
I can't believe someone is still running an SM2. What model of validator do you have now?
Vendingnoob500
The old validator that i removed due to it not working was a (NB-11B-400 117V) The owner before that had the machine replaced it, but it didn't work whenever i tested the machine. The first photo shows how the coin mech is configured Last one one shows the connectors from my old bill acceptor that didn't work, as they seemed they were connected to the board. Do you guys recommend for me to get a 115V validator or 24V? Would either work if i had the correct harness? i really don't want to get the wrong voltage bill acceptor and it for not to work Thanks! Vendo Mike
The Maka 115VAC and 24VAC units had different plugs so you couldn't plug in the wrong one. You'll need to go back with a 115 Pulse unit like an MEI 25x1. There are adapter harnesses for your power and credit to switch from Maka to Mars. I don't remember which mask config its going to take for the MEI to mount in place of the Maka or if you'll need an adapter plate on the machine. Last question, does it have to be 115 Volts? or could it be a model that is 110 Volts? I see that a lot of models of the MEI 2511 are 110 Volt, even some advertising to be 115, when they are really 110v. Would it make a huge difference? Vendo Mike
Sorry...some people say 110, some 115, 120 or 117. It's all the same 115VAC
