Nepherael
Hello, My machine isn't cooling. Everything runs, including compressor. I am going to do some troubleshooting in the morning to figure it out. Wanted to cover my bases. Assuming everything runs. Fan, compressor, all that stuff, and the evaporator won't get cold am I basically screwed and need to buy a new refrigeration unit? At this point all I know is to plug compressor to direct power and check for frost. If no frost and everything else checks out it would likely be a coolant leak right? Or is there anything else to check? And, finally, assuming I need to buy a new compressor deck, can anyone help me identify the correct model? This is an old dixie narco single price I believe from the 80's. Photo attached. I haven't seen the plate yet. Concerned it may have been removed. Thanks everyone! AZVendor
If you turn the thermostat off and the compressor takes a while to wind down (not the fan) then it's toast. Otherwise it's probably just out of freon and the leak is unlikely to be large enough to worry about. Have a vending machine tech recharge it. If if leaks down in less than 6 months then the leak will be fairly easy to find. The longer you go beyond 6 months the harder it will be to find the leak. Putting dye in the system when it's recharged will aid in finding a leak later.

Not sure if we have any dedicated vending techs
AZVendor
Call an appliance repair tech. They are used to working on medium temp applications like yours.
