VendingGuy606
i have a dixie narco 501e that I just purchased and put into location a month and a half ago. It used to get real cold. Now that it has been on location for awhile it is slowly getting warmer and warmer. Would this be caused by a freon leak, or would it just need recharged? I understand it could be multiple things. Any help is appreciated. Yes the door closes and seals. Yes the machine is away from the wall. And the fan is running. Gizmo Vending
You’ll have one fan behind the compressor and two in front of the evaporator on a 501e. You can unbolt the evaporator and slide it forward to check the evap fans.
AZVendor
LOL Gizmo, you got the behind and in front of reversed. The photo shows a proper frost line on the evaporator and there is no other ice on the evaportator, should this be a current-state photo, so it doesn't appear to be a freon or evaporator fan issue. However, the compressor could be short-cycling due to being up against the wall, having a clogged condenser in front of the compressor, having a faulty condenser fan, maybe a weak compressor overload, or a bad thermostat. If the compressor turns off but the condenser fan keeps running then I would look at the overload. If the compressor is very noisy then I would suspect that the machine got handled roughly and the rotor in the compressor is off of one of the support springs. This can overheat the compressor and short cycle.
