Soda Pop Vending
Lately I’ve been looking to get a snack machine but I’m not as familiar with snack vending as much as with beverage vending. I would prefer something $1500 or less and mdb/dex compatible. What machines are most reliable and what should I look out for?
tblake05
Open ended question.... what soda machines are you running now? Might be a good idea to get a snack machine the same brand so your (somewhat) familiar with it from the start. we run mainly usi machines. We bought the business with them. So I am used to them and their quirks. We just got another location with an AP.... My first one. Solid machine, and I like it so far.

I’d say go with AP or National. I personally like AP better but Nationals are also excellent. You can find both for cheap all day long. Where are you out of? I’m pretty used to it and it runs well but I dislike how it keeps crushing my iced coffee cans while dispensing. I’ve been hearing a lot about AP so I might take a look at those too. Is there anything I need to worry about when operating it? (Motors, priming, etc). Also, does the board on an AP communicate cash sales with a Nayax credit card reader? My Royal does not, so I have to put paper clips on each column to track how many were sold with cash. Kind of a pain.

I just started and was looking to just do beverage vending but it looks like I can also expand to snacks as well. Pending approval, I might have one put in a school, and snacks might generally work better. What are the differences between AP and National? Can both of them communicate with a credit card reader? My Royal doesn’t communicate cash sales so I have to manually count the stock every time I visit the machine.

tblake05
Cash reporting over mdb is always a hit or miss. I can’t speak on anything national or AP, but if you come across a good deal on a usi/fsi/wittern/selectivend snack machine, get a model number..... and a pic of the control board showing the eprom version, and I should be able to tell you if it’s cash reporting. though- if the machine won’t report cash sales over mdb, it more Than likely will report cash sales over dex. (Might have to eat crow on that one) best bet is to find a machine your interested in and post it’s specifics here for feedback. look for USA made machines with dual spirals and/or drop sensors (guaranteed vend)
Gizmo Vending
For 113’s it would have to have an InOne or vendors exchange board installed to communicate your sales.
