splitskull
hello. I have a old Dixie Narco 240/138-6 in my garage which stopped vending. Takes money (give change also if needed) but doesn't dispense anymore. To test, I replace the coin mech with a spare. No difference. I don't have a spare relay, but I took the cap off, and then I feed a coin and I see the relay energizing, so I guess that is ok. The motors in each columns work if I trip the red switch in the switch stack by the motor, so motors are ok. I looked all discs looked in home positions. All the paddles for Sold out look ok. I have cans in each column. I poked around the wiring and did not find anything broken except a broken ground wire at the door which I fixed it. is there another relay or a fuse somewhere to check? None of the selections vend. Last time it worked was column #3 (if that helps with anything). Also, I observed, if column motors are out of position (not home position), they do not turn to home position when the fridge is powered on. I think they supposed to turn to home position, no? No idea what to look for next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
AZVendor
They should all be at home when waiting for money to be inserted. The motor you had an issue with before is the cluster switch I would replace, or it's the switch on column 2 before it. Make sure all connectors are fully installed on all switches and that the common terminal on the side of all switches are captured.
splitskull
@AZVendor You gave me ideas. So I started to check continuity between all the columns at the 3 switch stacks. i’m almost certain is a switch in the column 6 which is the one before column 3 (3 is last on left). Middle switch doesn’t do anything. Is open on all 3 terminals.
splitskull
I can’t post a closer photo of the switch stack. Is there a pn for all 3? Or I can change only the middle ? Some are Cherry but I can’t make out the pn on any of them. Do you know? thanks
AZVendor
It's a cluster switch with all 3 together.
splitskull
Any idea where to get the stack in Canada? I found them on Ebay but $50-100$ shipping i’m not that crazy. Thanks
splitskull
Is this a Dixie Narco too? On marketplace. I can use parts from it as a spares.
splitskull
For now I bypassed the 2nd switch in stack with a jumper from COMM to NC and left that column empty. Works perfect. Every column vends. Thanks AZVendor, you were 100% right. Was the switch stack.
AZVendor
No, that photo is of an older Vendo based on the L-handle and coin insert on the door. Stay away from it as it's probably a lowering shelf machine.
lacanteen
I have some used ones but what is shipping cost to Canada?
splitskull
Used a small very fine file thingy that I use to clean contacts in EM pinball machines and cleaned the contacts in that problematic switch. All good for now
