National 168 gone haywire!

Recommended Posts

What would cause a crane national model 168 to vend multiple items with one credit? I inserted dollar pick a selection and three items vend from that selection. Then, it retains the dollar credit and tells me take another selection and I do and it vends three of the next item.

Does it have a drop sensor?

No drop sensor. Just realized I may have been test Vending in service mode with door open. Would that cause this?

Each test vend should only vend one item.  Did you hit it three times?

I was not in test mode. I dropped a dollar in with the door opened. Hit a selection. Vended it three times and ask for another selection and it vended theee times. With 1 dollar. But the door was opened rd. I’m sure user error. :)

I believe all the 168 models were produced with Sure Vend. If you were testing with the door open and therefore the product did not fall into the delivery bin, Sure Vend wiould try to vend again, and again thewn say Make another selection.

Well I’ll be darned.  Thank you. Didn’t realize those machines had drop sensors. That make sense because the door was opened and I was catching the product. One day I’ll get the hang of this. :)

What happens when you close the door and then drop a dollar in and make a selection?

I’ll have to revisit the location.
