DN3000 Resets or hiccups after each sale

Recommended Posts

Greetings gurus!

I have a DN3000 that is no longer my favorite but we're in this together. Sooooo, when a customer makes a cashless purchase, doesn't matter if tapped, inserted or swiped, the product is provided and change is given.

Example...Customer taps card to Nayax reader and receives $4.50 preauthorized credit as my energy drinks are $4.50. Customer selects Gatorade ($2.50) machine provides the Gatorade and $2 in coins.

This is happening with various cards including the Nayax prepaid card. I have since disconnected the reader and battled with Nayax and ended up with a replacement reader. (all is the same minus providing change when using card)

On top of that, after dispensing change, the machine cycles as though just powered on. The gate triggers cycle, the bill acceptor cycles and the led on the machine resets as though the door was just closed.

After disconnecting the reader, the issues went away but it's a high traffic area that REALLY uses the card reader.

Oh yeah, these issues arose after an update, Nayax pushed.

Suggestions/advice? I'm not open to dumping it and am able to spend to repair but not sure the best direction to take the next step in.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you both for quick responses.

AZ, I was looking on dsvending and it altars the 3 eproms, Pepsi and Coke specifically match what's in my machine. 👍🏾

Vendo, firmware update can be accomplished how? Updating the eprom?

Yes, updates are via Eprom.  Generally you'll save Coke or Pepsi for their branded equipment.  Those bottlers usually have some specifics in their programming to make it their own.  Even if it's something as small as the sales message reading "Enjoy a ####".

If you're using an unbranded unit, you'll probably want the 3rd option.

It's a Coke machine and I just ordered it.

Thanks again :)

Greetings folks

From one thing to the next but I am open to the feedback.

After swapping the eprom, now I am dealing with "not connecting to machine board,' error.

No clue what step to take next today. The intention is to attempt a call to Dixie Narco or locate someone knowledgeable about the Dixie Narco 3000 model.

Any suggestions?

Hello Mike

It did however, the DNC ERROR, no communication with MB popped up. Useless at this time because the default message is NO SALE as there no comment with the board.

I would say the board is bad.  It's also an ancient board so do you really want to keep putting money into this machine?

Considering the price of a new board...nope

Why wouldn't it operate when the original eprom was reinserted properly? At least I'd be able to "get by",  now it just looks good sitting there practically useless.

You can get rebuilt logic boards so that is worth a try.  It's all that will work in that machine anyway since DN long ago stopped providing SIID upgrade kits for the SII machines.

I apologize but I've been replying to this thread as if it was the thread about an old Coke machine with an SII board.  Sorry for that confusion.

That is just the notice that there are errors stored that you need to access.  Will it not let you access the Error menu?

So you are having the Machine Board No Communication.  The thing is it doesn't tell you what isn't communicating so we have to assume it's the coinage.  I would first disconnect the card reader and bill acceptor and only run the coin mech to see if the message returns.  Make sure you delete the error message first.  Then if it does return you know to try a different coin mech.  If the error doesn't return then plug in the bill acceptor and check for the error again and lastly reconnect the card reader.  If none of them trigger the error to return then try test vending every shelf then you might need to focus on all selections on one shelf.  It could even be a problem with the delivery port or the conveyor.  If nothing works then you need a replacement logic board.
