Make the coin mech deposit coins to bin as opposed to the mech tubes

Recommended Posts

Sorry for the stupid question.  Is this a dip switch orientation? I cannot remember how to make the mech do this.  Basically, for accounting purposes, I don't want the mech keeping any change, rather I would want to refill the mech as needed.

Thanks!

Model?

Why don’t you just have the tubes full, and then at every service fill the tubes up full from the cash box? You could also have a “bank” with rolls of coins you carry, and just “buy” rolls of coins from the bank using bills from the cash box. This way you can still keep proper accounting and reduce the risk of running out of change.

This is a great idea! Thank you. Currently looking at a 9302gx, but was wondering for the mars electronics model also.

The only switch setting that would have any effect like this is the Low Quarters switch that would not fill the quarter tube above the low sensor. Coinco and Mars mechs have this switch setting. If this is normal machines being run as normal vending using cash and currency then orsd told you the way to do this.  It is part of basic "route accountability."  If you are trying to balance your collected cash to what you sold then you need to keep your tubes full and refill them every time you collect the machine and read the meter.  If you refill the tubes with any coins from the cash box then you don't account for that movement of coins in your calculation.  If you carry rolls of coin to replenish the tubes with then when you add coins from that "bank" you would deduct the value of said coins from your collection because said coins were not generated by sales.

Why muddy it up? I’ve already got enough to worry about. Let the tubes fill and count the cash in the box. If you are low on nickels, sell it a roll and move on. It will all even itself out. Simple.
