Page R
My boys bought a Dixie-narco DNCB 368/MPC - 8 machine two years ago and now they want to expand their operation. There's two local contracting shops that want machines and we're wondering what we should try find. Credit card processing isn't a must but would be nice if there's good options on used machines. I'm thinking at this stage we'd almost have to go used but I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
Gizmo Vending
Only the big companies are buying new, and would be wise to stick with used. Dixie narco, vendo and Royal. To run credit cards you’ll need MDB machines. Even then MDB is a communications protocol and you might have hiccups.
Page R
Thanks @Gizmo Vending. Are MDB any easier to troubleshoot or repair? There one we have how has some problems and it's very confusing to me. The technology seems pretty dated but I'm not that savvy either.
Gizmo Vending
It depends on your experience which you won’t get until you’re getting problems and fixing them. I only bring up MDB so you won’t buy a single price machine and wonder why it won’t take a credit card.
Page R
I found a Royal RVCC-660-9 in decent shape for $400. From what you're saying this could be an alright machine. What do you think @Gizmo Vending?
Gizmo Vending
Those are good machines. The 660 model will be 7 ft. tall so don’t get it if you’re putting it inside a break room with a regular sized doorway. Going inside of a warehouse space you’ll be fine.

Make sure it isn’t still owned by the local Coke bottler. The 660s are 72” (6ft) tall, which is standard. The 804s are the tall (79”) version that suck to move into break rooms. Page R
Thank you guys! I found the specs and I'm wondering how I know the difference between the two 660's, it says there's a Chameleon and a 3D Vis. This one does have a tag that says it is owned by Coke but the guy says he confirmed it isn't. Were they only available new to Coke?
Vendo Mike
The graphics are proprietary and are only sold to coke bottlers. Once they're done with the old equipment, it's generally scrapped but a few do sell off their old stock. I'm sure the person said they checked but I would contact the Coke bottler myself to confirm before going any further. Some bottlers offer equipment on a "lease" basis. They would provide the equipment for free but you would be under contract to purchase the product from them at a specified price. It's called "3rd Party Operation" (3PO) by the bottlers. Might be worth checking on through your local Coke and Pepsi.
Gizmo Vending
Orsd is right, it’s a 6 ft. machine and will fit through doors. Don’t know why I thought it was the 7 ft. behemoth. Try calling coke with the serial number or asset number. The seller should be able to provide the serial number for you. If they can’t, then that will tell you what you need to know.
