Old Vendo Single Price Motor Harness?

Recommended Posts

I have an old Vendo single price drink machine that got hit with a power surge. The melted connector (that splits to the compressor at the bottom of the cabinet near the condenser) was replaced along with the cord end.
The compressor runs, the bill and coin accepts cash but all the sold out lights are on and there is no power to the motors.
The big harness plug at the bottom of the door looks good and the vend relay looks good (the points are open, not burned)

Any help would be appreciated

I would say it's time to just retire an old Vendo.  Otherwise you'll need to cannibalize one from another same-model machine. You could have a couple of wires inside the harness melted together.

Thanks Randy. The dumbest thing ever is that it’s at a recycling center on Main Street and people go there because it has the coldest sodas in town. Me,  I’m thinking that’s a problem in itself but that old thing empties out every two weeks. It’s like it has its own following. While I’m there filling it people gather around to peek inside a vintage vending machine. It has yelp reviews. It has nearly a million vends. 😂😂

Can you share a pic of the machine?  I'd love to share that with my office.

Allen, I don't know what the door is called but be do has a door that looks a bit old school.  It's difficult to explain but Mike might now.  It's a 9 select but not chameleon.  Now, I don't know if you'd be willing to dish out the money for it but you'd probably get twice the capacity and still have that old school look lol

I will as soon as I get back to the location.

Too funny!  You HAVE to fix it then!

Do you have a wiring schematic?

I do not. I can chase the wires with an ohm meter. It’s just so hard to work on while I’m there.  There’s at least 5 customers at a time  all trying to help out with suggestions, holding flash lights, asking questions, calling their friends over. It’s really nuts. I may have to take the machine back to the shop
