AP123 Credit Card Mounting.... Show me your pictures

Where did you all put your CC readers on your AP123?  Show me some pics.

Anything else I might run into besides an extension cable?

This is my first AP machine.  Go easy on me.

I usually go right on top of the little picture ad holder thing.

It can mount where the POS window is or if it doesn't have one then above the display on the door.

Here’s mine. Bad picture I know, but Is there a chance there’s enough room between the door and the menu for the cables? Because the area below the keypad to the left of the t handle would be perfect.

otherwise I’ll just go directly above the keypad and stuff below the display window.

You can put it wherever you like.  The cable will have to route up to the top of the door, across the light to the top hinge, into the cabinet and across the cabinet to the logic board.  By the way, a card reader won't work on your Royal if it's a RV552.

We have used a Nayax Fushion CC reader fitted to a PTI Apex note acceptor previously but as these have now been discontinued, have been replaced by a Nayax easifit which you fit a VPOST onto a MEI 2600 note acceptor & use existing cutout.

Or can use a Castle CC reader fitted to a MEI 2600 note acceptor.

Have done the extn cable solution previously but a PITA running cables back & forth.

Royal says I'll need a kit to upgrade to cashless along with a selection switch harness.  D&S has them both.  But 800.00.  Yikes.  I've been in contact with Arnie and probably will try the inone board.

Side note, it worked100% with payrange.  Though I read that sometimes card readers wont work and payrange still does.  Still waiting on a pair of readers to arrive and try them.

I think it's best to install it right next to the t-handle...because it is easy to reach for people with disabilities.  Here is a video of me installing one there:

Great thanks for the video! That’s where I want to put my reader as well but wasn’t sure if the cords would interfere with the inner door keypad when the main door closes. Thanks again!

I’ll inquire with nayax to see if they have a cord longer than 3m now.

and I miss the days where the reader was onboarded before it arrived to your door. No more calling unless a setting wasn’t right. I called nayax a while ago and while on hold the prerecording stated that onboarding could take up to two weeks and don’t bother calling. A brand new 600.00 pair of card readers that you can’t use for two weeks. Really makes you look good at new locations that you just installed new equipment. Sad.

Another question..... your ap123 has drop sensors? Mine doesn’t. Odd

I don't even have my drop sensors on.  If you load your products properly it will rarely jam.

Hey Phil! Salsita and zappo voodoo? Those sell really well for me.... once people try them. We’re having good luck with the guac salsita version as well.

Yea the guac did ok for a while a few years ago but slacked off, the voodoo's are about done for this run too but the Salsitas I almost always have (when I can get them) love that long shelf life too....

Hey Guys,  Does anyones AP123 report cash sales?  Just wondering..... As mine doesn't but hopeful a new eprom might make it.

 

Plus AZ, My 650 was NOT compatible with card readers like you thought.  But I created a short selection switch harness adapter-jumper to rewire the connector and I was able to run the latest 650 board revision with the latest firmware -12 (I believe).  All good and it DOES report cash over MDB.

 

Here they are Looking Nice with card readers and new LED lighting.  Thanks Guys!

My 123 did with stock board.  Board eventually failed so I got an InOne kit.  About the 650, i'm not sure exactly what you are referring to but revision 12 should work with a card reader perfectly fine.  Royals are weird because I think it's revision 1-4 are one board, 5-6 another, and I believe 7-12 are another board.  All identical boards for the most part but eproms are not compatible.  So as long as you had -7 or higher, you can get to -12 and those later revisions should work 100%.  Earlier revisions won't report cash sales.  If it sounds confusing, it's because it is.  I'm glad you got it working though.

then I swapped this eprom into it that I sourced locally for 25.00.

I took a gamble but it paid off. I have 3 other royal machines that all have 67101-1 chips that run the 67100-12 eprom with date stamps of earlier than this one. So I assumed it would work. Plus being a Red Bull machine I was sure that it hadn’t had much use.

I believe there are two eproms but I don't remember exactly.  I think one might say 67101 and the other might say 67100.  You only replace one of the chips though if I am not mistaken and the last number is what matters as to what it can be upgraded to

I'm pretty sure it's getting the data through MDB...although I do have the dex plugged into the CC reader.

Hey guys! Latest eprom reports cash over mdb! Great! Thanks for the help! 
 

It did say “out of service” on first boot up. So I did have to do some machine resets, 3 total, and unplug the battery for a few minutes. Then set prices, test each item, and all is well.
