KDVENDING
Wittern 3574. Bulbs won’t work and I want to replace with LED anyway. Any ideas on how to do this and what kind of kit I will need. It won’t allow me to add a picture of video but it has a bulb setup right now and for whatever reason no bulbs work.
tblake05
Huh, I thought the 3578 came with built in LED lighting. anyway, on my three wide usi snack machines I always use this bulb. https://www.ebay.com/itm/273496754556 it requires that you direct wire it which on most of the newer usi machines is just a matter of unplugging the ballast and connecting both wires together. Usi used butt connectors. Super easy, like they were forward thinking. And make sure to remove the starter.
AZVendor
KD: you either have a bad ballast or you didn't replace the light bulb starter when you replaced the bulb. Always change the starter too.
KDVENDING
The machine has no starter that I can see. I have older machines so I know what one looks like. As for a ballast I’ve seen them at Lowe’s the only thing I could think of is sending a video of what’s in this silver metal box where the components are. I’ve tired the original fluorescent and led tube lights neither work. @AZVendor @tblake05
AZVendor
The manual shows LED top and sides in this manual from 2017. https://www.vendmedic.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/4223866.pdf
KDVENDING
@AZVendor the machine is not led equipped. It only has a tube light setup. Two red and two blue on each end of the tube that leads to a main wire wrapped in black that goes into the power box.
tblake05
I think you may have mistyped the model number or something. It is a three wide USI snack machine, correct? The ballast is part of the transformer/switch assembly. Just bypass it, remove the starter, and install that bulb I send you, problem solved for good. Like AZ said, if you want to keep the tube, the starter is sort of under the bulb, sometimes hard to see. 1/8th turn and its out. Hardware store has them. KDVENDING
4 wide. I am 100 percent sure there is no starter that I can see. I have great pics and videos of the exact machine and what I’m talking about. Maybe you shoot me a email and I can show you. Won’t let me upload here to big of a file. dominicsosa43@gmail.com
tblake05
Ok, don't use that bulb then. It's only for a 3-wide. I must have the wrong model number.
tblake05
Got the pics, Very Odd. Not sure what vendnet has going on with that one. Measure the length. I think it's a 24" bulb for 4 wide. If it is, I just put this one in one of mine, no issues. It requires a ballast so its a simple install. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224193461568?var=522968643129
