Cokedealer
Good morning everyone. I just got this vending machine in, and I've only started doing work on it. I can see that the badge says 'Snack shop 6500' but this isn't doing me any luck when it comes to finding the manual which I really need... Can you tell I'm new to this? I'm noticing the machine is in good working condition so far, its just not accepting loonies and toonies for some reason, If anyone can help with that too I'd be grateful. Here are the pics. The front is plexiglass btw. Edited September 18 by Cokedealer
cvending
Here is a link t5o the manual for trhis machine. http://images.veii.com/images/Manuals/OEM/AP-RMI/AP-6500-Ultraflex-Parts-Service-Manual.pdf As foe the machine not accepting any money, do you have pricing set in machine? Did this machine come from someone in Canada? It may be set for US currency
Vendo Mike
I'm with CVending. Sounds to me like you might need to select US/Canada on the dip switches behind the acceptor. As old as that Coinco is, you might also need to send it in for at least a "clean and tune" if not other repairs and testing. Do you have another comparable coin mech that you know accepts Canadian coins?
Cokedealer
It came from a seller in Canada, and when I opened it up, it was filled with toonies and loonies. So I believe it must be a setting or switch issue.
Vendo Mike
It's possible someone just dropped a random coinco in that machine to fill the empty spot. Check the dip switches. It would be good to be able to test the coin mech on a machine but if the payout solenoid or something is shorted, you're risking the board on the tester if not properly fused. AngryChris
I have never seen the 6500 ultraflex. I know it exists, but nothing more. But this machine looks to be a standard AP 6000 series machine that came stock with 5 shelves, hence 6500 as opposed to the 7600/6600 with 6 shelves. A manual for the AP 6000/7000 should be all you need

I know the machines accepts toonies and loonies, just unsure if I have a bad coinco.
lacanteen
Here is your manual. Make sure there are prices set. At the top of the changer there are 2 latches which you push them up, then using the coin return arm, tilt the acceptor towards you. You'll see 3 small slide switches at the top. Make sure #1 is on for US/CAN. https://www.dsvendinginc.com/images/vending-machine-manuals/automatic-products-rmi/model-6000-snackshop-parts-manual.pdf
LBR12
If the con mech has not been updated after 2016 you will need to do that. Easy way to tell that is that 'loonies' from 2016 onwards will not be accepted by the coin mech and drop through to the return. The mech can be updated in Canada for usually for around 40$. Depends where you are located I guess.
AZVendor
Yes, it's just an AP6000 with 5 shelves which makes it a 6500. Ultraflex would have opposing candy spirals on all shelves.
