tblake05
And how much do you pay for the domain per month? Is it a tax deduction for advertising? did you think it helped with your sales/adding new locations? up till now we’ve been going by word of mouth or just door knocking at our own pace per funding allowed. Now that we’re paid off, we can maybe afford to build a little quicker. and how did you build a website? Did you hire anyone or use a company. Southeast Treats
I have had a very basic website almost from the beginning. I got the domain thru GoDaddy along with email service and used their design tools to set it up myself. I renew it all on an annual basis for a couple hundred. I need to spend some more time keeping it up to date and adding new content to help the SEO, but I mostly ignore it. I have received a few good accounts thru the website, since almost anyone looking for anything these days is searching the web. My wife's experience with web designer services in a prior job left me convinced that most of them are overpriced and hard to work with, so not worth using.

AZVendor
You can't "write it off" as it will just be an operating expense to the business. There are no write-offs in vending except for the possible use of Section 179 depreciation, which is just an accelerated depreciation of large assets.
tblake05
Yup, I'm learning that.
Fermo Vending
I've had a website from near the beginning, and while i haven't had any accounts come in directly because of a website click, my largest account checked my website the day before they called me to tell me they wanted to switch to my company. I think it adds a level of authenticity that could put you above your competitors.
Fermo Vending
I'm debating hiring a marketing company to hopefully start landing on the SERPs, but I'm not sure I can afford it right now. It doesn't seem like word of mouth, cold calling, and in person visits are the most sustainable form of lead generation. Like Treats said, everyone is doing everything online these days. AZVendor
It's like back in the 90's and '00's when us large players had 1/4 page Yellow Pages ads that were really just for show. We just had to keep up with the competition.
Fermo Vending
Did the yellow page ads lead to any accounts?
tblake05
Yellow Pages? What's that? Also, whats.... White Pages? Kings Atlas?
AZVendor
The yellow pages worked about as well as a standard website without spending a ton of money for clicks. A decent account here and there but all the large accounts came from referrals or from bids.
