LBR12
Hi everyone, My RVCC 660-9 recently lost power due to a local power outage. Now the coin mech and Bill validator are not working. The MEI validator has a flashing red light in the rear. It powers up fine but there are no flashing green lights in the front and it does not accept bills. The coin acceptor (Coinco) has a solid red light as usual, but does not accept coins in sales mode. The machine timekeeper works as all the price settings were kept. Card reader works with no issues. Things I have tried: I emptied the coin mech but when I go into tube fill mode it does not display any count on the machine display at all, the screen is blank. checked for loose wiring harness etc. Unplugged machine and unplugged mechs. Plugged back in and reboot but same issues persist. Not sure where to go from here. Appreciate the help Edited October 16 by LBR12
Vendo Mike
Does the mech respond to CPO from the board? Sounds like you need to test the coin mech. If the reader is still functioning, the mdb line from the board must be ok.

My intuition is that it is the coin mech but not sure what could have happened? Maybe the outage messed it up somehow? Last, Im not sure how to test the coin mech. The good news is that the machine is here at my office all day so I have time to play around with it. Thanks again
Vendo Mike
In the service mode, by using CPO ( Coin Payout ), you can learn whether your board is communicating with the coin mech by using the board to tell the coin mech to pay out a nickel, dime and quarter. If the coin mech does not function, your dbv will not function either. Does the mech smell burned or are there any marks on the back indicating high heat or component failure? Ill test that mode Mike, I know where that is. No marks or smelll. Will update on what the CPO test says. Thanks
Vendo Mike
If you don't smell a burn, you can test that mech on another mdb machine to see if your issue is in the coin mech or the board.
LBR12
So when plug the con mech in directly to the MDB board the con mech works fne. So maybe it is a harness issue between the bill validator and the coin mech? I know the card reader works when all three are connected but that leaves the mech and validator powered up but not comminating. so this s where it s confusing. Also as luck would have it, I used my last spare harness and my other machine is far from here.
LBR12
FOUND THE ISSUE: Nothing wrong with any of the mechs. A small blue wire is out of the Y harness that goes from the card reader to the y harness of the bill and coin mech...so just need to get that wire back in. For now have the bill and con mech connected.
