1st Machine Questions

Recommended Posts

So as you all get, cash is king and not to be wasted.  Looking to get my first site up and running.  Need snack and beverage, but room is an issue as is cost.  So a combo machine feels right even though it's been suggested that a bev and snack set up with separate machines would be best.  Having a difficult time finding anything that can be upgraded with a CC reader used or refurb in the area.  Ran into multiple scam attempts on marketplace and facebook.  I have found a few of these around and wanted to put the list out there for your input.

Dixie Narco 501e $1200 no cc need bill acceptor.

Same with bill collector but looks to be less cared for and 45min drive further.

Selectivend gatorade combo (sams club machine) Used approx 2 years $900

DN 276e refurb shipped from Vending world

AP 6600 from vending world as well.

Rowe 4900Jr (non MDB to my knowledge and thinking 6-800 to get converted?)

OR (Break the bank option)

NEW AMS Visi 39 Combo unit

Happy to hear all suggestions and feedback even on machines not listed above.  Thanks!

Oh I see.  The 276E and 6600 would be fine if the 6600 is upgraded with a new board so it can take a card reader.

the "oh i see" leads me to believe there was a thought left unsaid?  I'm thinking the refurbs from vending world would be best as well.  Was hoping to avoid 2 machines, but I also would rather put out the initial investment rather than purchasing someone else's problem.

I thought that it was a really small account.  if it was, I wouldn't recommend new or even refurbished equipment.  The used combo would suffice just to learn but we typically don't recommend combos except with space is an issue (which you did mention).  The 276E and 6600 will only take up about 62-64" combined and are great machines.  I was surprised when you said 45+25 because that's a pretty reasonable size to start with.  I would get two machines for that any day.  Combos can look cool but they are inferior to two dedicated machines in just about every other way.

Why didn't you just say that in the first place?  I may be new to vending, but sales and reading people I am not.  Thanks for that info, it gives me some good thoughts.  I think I'm trying to be too cheap/"reducing liability".  And yes, the combo machines are a sexy option, but I joined this place for a reason, and it was to avoid costly costly mis-steps, and to make the best out of every dollar invested.

I can read people too, and I have no desire to help you anymore.  Good luck.

Wow man, just making conversation.  Thanks for the advice.  Sorry you got butt hurt from what was just some friendly banter.  Best of luck to you as well.  I actually thought we were having fun.  Guess i found out where the handle came from. 😡
