GrantSeoane
I recently acquired an A&W dixie narco 440R/252-8 I have been methodically testing this thing to see what works and doesn't to see if I want to refurb it. Although I've never owned a Vending machine before I'm mechanically/Electronically inclined as my hobbies. My question is for the vend motors on this baby, can you buy the bits separately without buying a new one? I seem to have at least 6 broken vend motor brake springs, but i can't find this little part anywhere (internet) The vend motors on all 8 columns seem to spin (2 columns 5&6 actually vend) the rest just make noise when i engage the micro switch that sits inside the cam wheel. the machine is dirty as hell cans rupurted inside it and a mouse/rat seemed to live in it for a while. I got the machine for free so I was like maybe I can fix it, but I dont want to clean the whole thing unless i think i can fix it without breaking the bank. lacanteen
The spring alone was never available, it came with the motor. I'll see if I have a machine in my scrap pile.
lacanteen
Since you only have 1 post on here, you can't use the PM feature. I going to give you my old email address for you to send me your US mail address. g.bruss <at> mmsalescompany <dot> com use the correct punctuation and it will come through
AZVendor
That machine is rougher than anything I have ever worked on. Tons of blown up cans and rust everywhere. I would be surprised if even half the motors work. Since this is your first machine you probably have many more issues than you think you have. Myself, I wouldn't even attempt to make this work nor would I part it out as all the parts are trash.
lacanteen
It's a project machine for sure. Clean up and sand the coil and rotors on the motors, contact cleaner on the switches and connectors, it might work.
AZVendor
Very doubtful. Will need motor brakes, motor switches, etc, etc.
Vendo Mike
You've gotta really like working on these to decide to rebuild this thing.
AZVendor
Yup. From the looks of it there is no chance it even works now and each "fix" will just expose another issue.

GrantSeoane
right now the coin mech works the selection switches work it dispenses on 1,3,5,6. Cooling doesn't work. needs new display lights. all vend motors spin. Vend brakes need cleaning and lube and new springs. New (used working) cooling deck can be acquired for 300 dollars.
