Snack Coil Count

Recommended Posts

Oddly enough, trying to get a good breakdown of max coil counts for snack vending machines is difficult to find online without some trial and error as a new operator. Here's what I've been able to gather, can someone correct my assumptions?

  • Cup of Soup - 8ct
  • Chip Bag Large 10ct
  • 20oz Water/16.9oz Bottle/16oz Energy Drink/12oz Can 10ct
  • Chip Bag Small 12ct
  • Pastry (Honey Bun/Little Debbies) 15ct
  • Candy Regular 18ct
  • Candy Small (Slim Jims, Air Heads) 20ct

Much appreciated!

Fermo, I'm not sure what machines you run but 11 ct and 13 count aren't very common.  The only thing off in his original list is the Cup of Soup that I figured would work better in a 6 ct spiral and that 20ct spiral he mentioned kind of sounds like USI because it's not mainstream either.  The sodas will fit in whatever spirals the manufacturer puts in their drink shelf, dependent on manufacturer.

I use crane national 157s, but I guess that's what I get for assuming all things to be consistent. Also bc my machines were set up by D&S I thought that could be the standard. My 1oz chips are all in 11ct. I was running the cup of noodles in 6ct, but sometimes they run up on the spirals and the last one or two can pop out of them. I haven't run into that issue with the 5ct

I hear alternating the rotation on them works to avoid that. One standing up and the next one in the coil on its side and repeating. D&S has stated they are out of the machine reselling business and deferred me to Vending Concepts which mainly focuses on selling their VC-rebranded machines. Ill be going with an AMS-39 which has 5,6,8,10,12,15,18,20 coil options. Appreciate the feedback, measure twice - cut once.
