zoom6
I have a 276e already and like that it's programmable. I found a deal on a 276MC which I am completely unfamiliar with. Seller sent me a pic of the s/n (0959 6240BT). Can anyone tell me a little about this thing and how it compares and differs from my 276e? I'd like to set this one up as a np-charge beverage cooler at the house, which my 276e can also do. Thanks!
lacanteen
MC means Magnum Curve, which is a Pepsico design. It was built in 1995 and has SII board which is rare and hard to find. The -6 on the end means it's 6 selections. If it has 7 columns inside, then it is a 276E. If there is 6 columns, then it is not an E Model and the delivery port will not be large enough to vend tall bottles. If you plan on vending just cans, then it'll work fine. However, the biggest problem is the SII board instead of SII-D.
zoom6
@lacanteen Thank you for that information! This one has 6 buttons, so I assume it only has 6 columns inside. What are the differences in the SII and SII-D boards? I thought my existing 267e had a SII board on it. Would the 276e have a SII-D board instead? With the SII board on the 276MC, can I still program each selection price to zero like I can on my 276e? I want to essentially use this thing as an over-complicated beer fridge, lol. Thanks again for the information. I have already learned a lot on these boards. I have also attached the rest of the pictures the seller sent me. lacanteen
You can price it to zero, and it'll make a fine beer dispenser. The SII board is more difficult to repair or replace if needed. The E stands for Extended, meaning you can vend cans 3 deep or 20oz bottles 2 deep. SII-D repairs and replacements are still widely available. Vendo Mike
Take a close look at the cooling unit. If the previous owner ran the machine backed flush against the wall like that, they very well could have damaged, reduced the life of that compressor. These breath in the front and out the back. That hot air has to have somewhere to go. If all looks good and you take the machine, lay a 2x4 on the floor behind it so it can't be shoved against the wall. The SII board is a little older than the SIID but for what you're doing, if everything works, it fit's your "overcomplicated beer-frig" goal.
