Selling machines or running machines? The BIG quesiton...

Recommended Posts

So I get a bunch of machines for cheap all the time ($50-$300) and they are usually working great and fully functional. The big question...  do I sell them or do I try to place them? Any advice is appreciated!

I want as many opinions as I can get...

-A little insight, I'm 16, I know how to work on machines, been doing this for almost 2 years. Have a few machines I operate but have been mostly, selling others machines, fixing machines for people, etc...-

I would be operating as many as I could put out.  You'd be one of the only ones with such low overhead that you almost couldn't help but turn a decent profit.

But lets say I get a bunch of 200-400 a month accounts... which would happen if I was just chucking machines into locations as I got them. Then would that even be worth it? How could I combat getting into these acounts and find better ones on repeat.

Place them. Duh. If they don’t make money or the location doesn’t have great sales, can always sell them later as “on location”.

Are the single price machines you get for 50-300 in good enough shape to professionally place though?

No they are good machines, 501E's, 276E's with SIID, Crane 157-8, Crane 167-8, Royal 660/804's, etc...

I guess more accurately it would be from $50-$500 per, most common price is $300 per machine. Some are $50 and need some work, some are $500 and are ready for location. The $300 ones usually just need some minor tweaks and cleaning. I also get vendi-swipe units with virtually all of them, so I only need to buy the G11 Telemeter to get them working with card, saves ~$160.
