plush bus claw machine

My plush bus claw will go to play area will move side to side front and back, the problem is when you push the joy stick it will not come down. it sounds like it is winding up. time runs out and it goes back home. when you close the door it goes home but will not go down. any help thanks

Make sure your string isn't tangled or jumped off the wheel and bound up. If the string is good check all of the switches that control that up/down motor function. Often, if a wire breaks off a switch you'll get issues like this. I'm surprised that it isn't giving you an error code when this happens.
