detbjr Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Hi guys I have an American changer ac2221 with the old legacy boards. I’d like to upgrade. To get new boards, apparently the legacy change hoppers and bill acceptors have a different protocol. I’m trying to get a crash course on what the protocols would be and how to choose a reasonably priced bill acceptor and also hoppers that would work with the new boards. they sell a “super board” that looks like it would work and also a flex 2 board that even has a networkable option for internet monitoring. appreciate any practical experience with this. I’ve already dealt with the customer service and they just steer me to buying a new unit or special conversions that cost thousands, which is not viable. thx!
AZVendor Posted January 10 Posted January 10 You need to speak with tech support at American Changers to figure this out. Ask for Tech support, not sales. If that's who you got already then ask for sales. Someone may actually help you to the cheapest alternative. Very few bill changers are in service now due to the high number of card readers that have been deployed.
Vendo Mike Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I believe Wachtor Electronics works on these changers quite often and is an authorized distributor/repair center. I'll bet they could answer these questions for you. I could be mistaken but it's worth a call and they always answer the phone. Ask for Chad or Mike.
