mike777
Just unpacked my 10 1800 machines I got off ebay. I am less than impressed.. The machines in general are ok; it looks like they were sitting in the sun too long though but they work. However, there were 10 machines, 10 posts, but only 6 base plates. I will be emailing the seller, but on the off chance he doesn't have the missing 4 plates (or disputes that I didn't receive them), would any stand work and would it be possible to find just the bases somewhere? I also found many of the rubber 'feet' are missing. I don't think they're absolutely necessary, but does anyone know where I could find those? If I need to ask for reimbursement, how much should I ask for?
Faith Vending
I don't understand ebay...is it becoming scam bay? I would ask for a full refund of the cost of making your order right. Those little rubber feet look nice but are hard to keep attached to the machine with moving and placing etc. I can get you a price on bases if you need a $ amount. lurtsman
Sorry to hear that Mike. I hope his packages just got split up and the stands are coming. Did you print the original auction page incase you have to dispute that the items were not as described?

I wonder if you can paint them up so they look like new again. The missing bases are unacceptable, unless they are in another shipment. find out if there are multiple tracking numbers...its sounds like my machine damaged, but you have 10 to deal with...he should not have to go out and buy bases... if bases did not come, then this is unacceptable... Which ebay user did you get them from?

Do you know if I need to use the same 1800 base or will any base work? Also, is there any way I can just get the baseplates (not the posts)? If so, how much would they be? I just want to gather info just in case I need to quote an amount to reimburse me. I do like the rubber feet too; is there any place to order those? I also noticed on one of the bodies, there is a part of the chute (on the outside) broken off. Its not too major but I was thinking I can either use that machine for parts, or buy a machine body (just the green plastic part). Thanks!

Which ebay user did you get them from? It was a stock photo so I expected them to be in used condition. I guess they were a little more 'used' than I pictured. Oh well, thats why I bid lower than the other 1800 machine I bought. The shipment was all in together in 5 boxes as stated on the FedEx tracking thing so I don't think I'm missing a box. I am going to email the seller now to make sure he didn't just forget to include the last 4 bases. He has a 100% rating so I'll withhold judgment until I hear what he says. Do you think I can paint the plastic bodies? I'm not sure how well spray paint would stick or look on them.

I do not know what it would be worth...take it to a painter, and ask his opinion on getting the machine painted, he would know more on what type of paint to put on, or if it can be painted and still look good. antoniocinisi
HAD you bought them from me they would have been in 9 out of 10 condition and you would have had all the parts.no dealing with disputes, missing parts or painting anything, they would have been route ready.I guess you live and learn.I do have parts that you need for sale too if you are intrested. Mike: I don't know if another machines base will work; I have all 1800 and never had this come up. They seem to be pretty basic base with either 2 or 4 screws to line up. 1800 retails the base plates at $25 each and the rubber feet at $3 for 6. I am sure you can get these cheaper somewhere else. He said the body was plastic..are they plasic or metal...I heard they was very secure... I can not see them being secure if the 1800 is plastic..can you clear this up for me? how much does a 1800 unit weigh? Thanks
Faith Vending
Simms.. there is some plastic in the 1800 but not like the VS's; They weigh about 35 pounds. If you are going to mess with the machine you would be better off stealing the damn thing; they are that secure. Step up and try one.

Is there a site online where you can get 1800's (new) I have not seen them on ebay, only a few used, since you never know what you may get from ebay, maybe it is better just to go with new 1800... Thanks David
mike777
Good news! The seller apparently just forgot to send the 4 base plates so he will be sending them right away. I'm not going to argue over the quality since I got them for less than I expected to and I would say they're a 6 or 7 out of 10 average (with the exception of the one with a broken chute.. 'lip'?) dsimms - Part of the 1800's body is plastic but it is very hard and has a metallic look to them. It is the green part if you look at a picture of them. The canisters are also plastic but they seem to stay a lot clearer than other plastic machines I've seen. The silver/gold parts are metal and the base is all metal. The backplate over the cash box is also metal. As Faith Vending said, they are about 35 lbs empty so good luck trying to steal a full one. The 1800s come with 2 candy wheels and 1 gumball by default. Of course used machines may be mix-and-match. I checked all of my machines and I do have the correct ratio but I just need to switch some of them around. 1800Vending doesn't make the machines anymore if I recall correctly; they have moved on to full-line machines. I have heard that a Chinese company makes a knock-off? Does anyone know if those parts would also work in an original 1800? FaithVending - Where does 1800 sell their extra parts? I haven't been able to find it on their site and I thought it was only for the original buyers? antoniocinisi - Sent you a PM As for painting, I think I will experiment on the broken body and see how it works. I don't know why I didn't think of it before but my uncle is a painter so he might know. Or I might just ask someone at Home Depot.

I wonder if anyone has gotten those 1800 knock offs and how they are working out... there was a deal last month from a guy from texes, he was selling brand new 1800 for $130 shipping included. its too bad I was not around doing this at that time..it would have been a good deal compared to paying that same amount for used 1800 machines. Faith Vending
On their 1800 support site; you have to have bought some new machines from them to have access to parts, why I don't know. There has to be $ in their parts business, the prices are very high.

Why would they stop selling machines and continue selling parts...what happens when all the parts are gone if they are not selling machines? or are they just selling off their inventory that is left over...if the prices are too high then maybe it would be better to keep an eye out for new/used from a private seller. davidsurvz
Here are some links for new "1800-style" machines........ (I have had much success with a little patience and ebay.) http://www.candymachines.com/Triple-Canister-Vending-Machine-P1810C49.aspx http://www.vendingcoinoperated.com/catalog/Classic_triple_gumball_candy_vending_machine_coin_operated_VCOGBC980_420.html http://www.gumballs.com/triple-canister-candy-vending-machine.html The machines have a plastic body but they are excellent machines. On the deal. 1st this one looks just like a 1800 - its a knock off? 2nd - your min order must be 100 machines? 3rd not bad i guess..little on the high side... I would not mind spending $130 on a new one, but not almost $200 for a knock off...
davidsurvz
These are the sites that are selling new that I've found...... There are no more "new 1800's" from an actual 1800 website.... Only the direct imports and companies like Rhino and other "knock off" companies. Maybe there is a decent "knock off" out there that is reasonably priced.... (I haven't found one yet.) CL and Ebay are the best bet for sure unless you are looking for a big quantity. David
