Where can I find out the Maximum amount of chemicals etc.. that the US. will allow?

I found this location, they said "yes!" but I have to bring them "Proof of Comformity" for all my toys & I"m sure they'll want to see & Of course I want to see too, what the US. Requires for the Toy's Chemicals & all that.

Cause Like I have some winny the pooh toys, & I think they may now be "Illegal?in the US?" not sure, but I want to be sure. I have tons of other toys too, but I don't want to go to the location, give them proof of comformity for the WInny pooh toys & put them in the location & than they are like "Hey bro, look it says right here that there is too much of "Chemical X" in here or what ever.

so Before I turn it in I want to see for my self that the toys are legitimate with the US standards. thanks guys!

Bandersnatch,

Sounds like what you are looking for is called the "Certification of Compliance". It pertains to toys manufactured after Nov.12,2008. Under the CPSIA Act of 2008, only the manufacturers(USA) or importers must supply this to our government. However, you should be able to get a copy of it from the people you get your products from. They are supposed to make it available to you.

sorta like walking into a chemical plant. The govt requires that a list of all chemicals be available

to 911 services, and all employees, so they know how to deal with a problem, if one comes up.

I'm looking for something to compare my Certificates from A&A & other toys to.

I want to see what the USA requires.

Suppose my certificate of Conformity from A&A website says blah blah blah..

I want to see what USA's Requirement says, I want to compare my Certificates to that.

For instance: I have some Winny Pooh toy's from Tomy, & I have some reason to believe that they may no longer be legal in the USA & I have the certificates for those toys right here, but nothing from the USA requirements/standards to compare them to, you understand what I'm trying to say?

can some one help me with this??

I don't do toys, and have not looked at a COC, but I would think A&A, as well as the other toys sellers, would not have a certificate, if the toy did not "conform".

It sounds to me like this certificate is supplied to the seller (so they can make it available to the buyer) AFTER the government agrees the toy is "safe" by their standards.

My answer isn't going to be a good answer, but it is a simple answer. No one is ever going to ask to see the POC. I may be wrong on this, but I dare say that no bulk vendor has ever been asked to produce this document. We all have chewed on cheap chinese made toys as children and have lived just fine. If my kids ever got anything out of a vending machine, I would probably throw it out within a week anyways. Just put the toys in your machine and don't worry about it. Before long the toys will be sold out and you won't have to worry about it anymore. Then, buy toys from a trusted source.

Carry the POC with you in case your asked. I was asked last month, told the owner the toys conformed and he said OK; but it might make or break a deal particularly if the issue flares up again. Same thing with peanuts. Our justice system let pedofiles go free but will regulate the micrscopic taint that is in a toy capsule

I share your frustration Jim. Our government does nothing to track down illegal aliens, but will somehow find a way to track down "illegal" toys in vending machines!  How many 6 year olds are actually eating or licking our toys?  Our toys are clearly stated to not be suited for toddlers (under 3).
