dperry
I normally don't sell licensed products in my racks. I don't have any of the Winnie the Pooh, or Dora the Explorer or even any SpongeBob items. But I see them quite a lot on the big grocery store vending racks. Do they sell any better than the non-licensed stuff? I'm not talking about the seasonal stuff like the NFL helmets, but I wouldn't mind knowing if they do better as well. antoniocinisi
it depends on the location and your price points mostly.in some places I sell spongebob at 75 cents and they sell well.the marvel hero and similar dont do too well.I think yes it is worth the extra cost if you are selling 2 inches at 75 cents. dperry
Right. But do you think they'll sell or will the sit in the machine. If I have something like water filled yo-yo balls in one machine for 75c next to another machine filled with Ben10 figurines at 75c, which do you think will sell more? Smiley
it depends. on the location. on the item. there is no simple answer to your question
havending
NO its not worth it. You see it in those locations because the large vending companies pay far less for it than avg. joe vending.
Smiley
they pay far less for everything than the average joe.
MrEen
I don't do toys, so I can't answer this question. Happy Birthday anyway! Scott P.S. Happy belated Birthday to everyone else. I just figured out how to read the "Upcoming Birthdays" link.
West Coast Vend LLC
I have found that licensed product at certain stores do really well. If it's sports licensed product it works. NFL, etc. If I sell cartoon type licensed product like Sponge Bob characters, stickers and tattoos, they do well. You just have to be careful with older licensed products. They may just be a fad and you could get stuck with a load of stuff you can't get rid of in the end. You have to think like a kid or better yet, talk to kids about what they really like to buy. dperry
I'm thinking of ramping up an adding flats to my racks. But I have one location where I have a four column flat on a rack and I have to say the flats are not the biggest sellers. I've switched out the flats and added some nice stuff from VSI but sales are still kinda lackluster. This is in a mexican taquaria, and I have things like lower back tattoos, alchemy gothic, iStickers, hound dogz stickers, and most recently added screwball sports tattoos. I'm thinking that maybe licensed stuff like the disney princesses, or marvel or bakugan tats would sell better than the more run of the mill Ed Hardy or Bullsey style tats. Or if not the licensed tats, what are the most popular flats that you all are finding that sell the best?
dperry
And on that same note, do you think that the spiderman superballs will sell any better than regular superballs? Do the spider man buildable figurines do well at all? Or how about the rest of the marvel heros buildable figurines?
BudLeiser
I am leaning towards >50% licensed products if that answers your question.
