dsimms
I serviced a machine today, as she request peanuts... I found PMM .50 Ski .50 M&I $2.00 I have read across this forum that skittles is not really a great seller. What do you guys replace skittles with that will sell? as i really do not want to keep machines with skittles if they are going to be slow movers... MrEen
David, I would give the Skittles a little more time before you replace them. In my two decent accounts, both of which have Skittles and Peanut M&M's, the Skittles took in about half as much as the PMM in the first month or two, then moved closer to equal. Also, do you have labels in the heads? That could boost sales as well. When the decision is made to replace them, you may want to try a tab-type gum, if the location is fine with that. whaletail116
Skittles generally sell better than Mike & Ikes in my machines. Its difficult to tell with only 12 vends.
Jax Snacks
I still sell them, but... Skittles is typically a young person's candy. I can never sell them in (age 30+) older adult locations and no longer even try to place them there. Kids do love them and so do young (age 20 something) adults as well as teens. What is the location's demographics? Jax
joebob051977
How long has this machine been on location? M&M's have been very sucessful for me. I had a location request Skittles, and of course they sold $1.25 in 2 weeks at a $50/mo location. M&M's did much better for me when I swapped them out. Scott Yes, I am doing this well before...It will take about a month to see what the 4 machines are doing. I will just wait a couple of cycles and see what is going on. I just placed a machine where it looks like a kid is part of the family, so hopefully it will get used. I am putting large labels on all my machines, not those little bitty labels. you would should be able to see these labels across a small room, even if you are blind you should be able to see them... so obviously time will tell.... M&M's did much better for me when I swapped them out. it has only been there for 5 days, I had to swap out heads on the machine. Even though it was only there for 5 days, M&I pull $2.00 - I would like all heads to do that, if skittles is not going to pull its weight, maybe find something that will. but I still have skittles on hand for two more machines, so it will be a couple more months before the numbers are in.. PMM did not sell that great as there was already a single head PMM machine there, so I swapped out with mixed peanuts as she requested peanuts... chowchowjailboss
If she wanted the nuts, then so be it. I bet that the nuts will be a loser for you but time will tell. As far as the PMM, buy some the the machine that is in there and count the number of PMM it gives. Set your machine to give just a few more and you will drive the other guy out or people will just stop using his and buy from you. When he is gone, you can reset the machine after a period of time. I know the change has been made but keep this in mind for other accounts that have machines with like items.

I would rather not compete, so I will try something else if it does not work, and keep trying, in the end, if i have to go back to PMM, then I will... gr88products
Hey dsimms I would give the skittles a try for a month or two. I have skittles in all my machines and they regulary do 15-20 gb pounds. They are my second best seller, cadbury's mini eggs are by far the best for me. Dont know if skittles are as popular over with you, but here in britain, people love them. Also the price of skittles here are pretty cheap. I pay 10 gbp for 10 x (195 gram) bags and these will give me a return of 30-35 gbp. So they are very profitable.

reinhagw
"Cadbury Mini Eggs", do they sell these in the colonies? And will they go thru a Vendstar without getting scrambled? Still, a pretty good discussion about waiting out a product, making sure it's right for the location - or not! jr

gr88products
reinhagw - Dont know if the mini eggs will go through a vendstar without getting scrambled i know i have had some problems getting them through a u-turn machine, but generally they vend ok. Id recommend them to anyone. Ive taken upto 30 gbp on these in one month and thats in a u-turn 4 select head.
