Automatic Products machines

I'm going to be looking at a small route (2 locations) with a couple AP machines.  One is a 20 year old AP112 with one broken spindle, the other is a 5 year old AP123.  I'm not as concerned about the 5 year old one, but the 20 year old one worries me.  Assuming the location is fine with the machine as long as it works, how long is the normal life for these machines.  Also, how much would it cost to repair the broken spindle?  I'm wondering why the guy didn't just fix it before selling.

He is selling the AP123 machine/location for $2000, says it does $190/mo sales.  He is selling the AP112 for $900, the location does $90/mo sales.  Both have 10% commission.  I think both locations are overpriced, but I'm thinking the AP112 location is way overpriced if I need to fix/replace the machine.  But, I'm thinking the sales may go up after the machine is replaced.  Any ideas what to offer?  I'm thinking $2250-2500 minus the cost of repairing the spindle.

!90 a month? and 90 a month? that is the reason he is  selling them ..If i had machine doing that low i would move them..Offer him 1500 for both see what he says he might say yes..You can take a 20 y/o machine and paint it and it will look good again.

You can buy most vend motors cheap if that is the problem.

The AP112 with a little work (redo front and modern paint colors) can serve you well for a number of years. Look closely at the harness connection to the shelf and the wiring inside for signs of wear and cracking. It's those loose and broken wires that will cause intermittent failures and drive you nuts.

Those sales numbers are low. If you don't have a number of machines out there you will burn inventory on stale dating because you don't have a high number of turns.

As mentioned, around 1500 for the machines sounds fair, but think about finding them a better home where you can make more $$.
