dperry
As I search and search for more new product, I am finding that almost everybody is just a reseller of just a few main producers. A&A, Brand, SSM and Cardinal (VSI for tats) seem to have the original product items and everybody else just sells it with their (sometimes 100%) markup. ActionMatic has a few original items like the smiley games, but they too just resell many of the same items. So my question is, are there any other sellers of original items that I may have missed?
BluePlate
I had the same thought and question. My thinking is, they all come out of a manufacturer in China. They just leave from seperate door
dperry
Yeah, but if you look at all the other resellers, they even use the same A&A displays for the items. What we need are some new products. A few years ago, there was a big run on monster balls. 49mm balls with monster faces on them. They were hugely popular, but now you can't find them anywhere. It would be nice to have a constant supply of new items like those.
Mercury
Dperry, I can get you monster balls, but they are NOT cheap! roughly $.50.....so you have to sell them at a buck, and only double your money. They are nice quality though, and sell very well for me. They are 45 mm, I think. Merc
cavity
Correct. Just about EVERYTHING comes out of China. Do a Google search for Chinese vending machines/product. You can buy any of the machines and products you want but, you have to order in mass quantities. That's the only pitfall.

Aren't some like Oak and NW made in the U.S.A. Or are those "Made in America" claims false?
cavity
Hey Sherlock, I wrote "Just about EVERYTHING comes out of China. Do a Google search for Chinese vending machines/product", NOT AMERICAN MADE! Most of the products vendors put in their machines come from China. But, I guess you beg to differ. What products do you sell that are made here? I think everyone with common sense knows that Oak, Beaver, and NW are not made in China.
sherlock
Hey Sherlock, I wrote "Do a Google search for Chinese vending machines/product", NOT AMERICAN MADE! Most of the products vendors put in their machines come from China. But I guess you beg to differ. What products do you sell that are made here? You guess incorrectly. I don't beg to differ. I just wanted clarification. I think you may have mistaken my questions as sarcasm. In fact, as a newbie, I wasn't being sarcastic. I was just asking questions to learn. Many of us likely know of "American Made" products that are made up of over 50% foreign manufactured parts. These types of products claim to be "American Made" when in reality they should be marketed as nothing more than "Assembled in America" (if that). After reading your post and missing the word "Chinese" on your post, I feared the vending machine mfr's were guilty of that "made in America" issue I just described. But, my bad, I missed the word "Chinese" on your post. That's what I get for trying to reading so fast.
lurtsman
Northwestern is American, and imo the best machines available. That said, anything that brings me quarters looks good to me.
wevend
I started out with a few XYZ Machines. After coin mech breakdowns and poor service I switched to AMERICAN made Northwesterns. Great machines and great service from this company. NW is the only machine I buy now.
sherlock
I have questions in response to the last couple of posts: I was leaning towards getting some NW's. While researching I found the Oak machines to be a little less expensive. Not much, but over the course of growing a route, those $10-$20 more per machine will add up. Given that both Oak and NW are respected mfr's/brands, is the NW really worth the extra $10-$20 per machine over the Oak? If so, why? Don't mean to hijack but I had to ask in response to the NW fans posting in this thread.
dperry
Don't mean to hijack but I had to ask in response to the NW fans posting in this thread. Yeah, there is a very good thread/area that deals with equipment reviews, and the recent discussion seems to be better geared to that. What I'm looking to find is more, fresh product to sell that is not going to be had by all the other resellers out there.

If I can get oaks for 20 and northwesterns for 40, I'll buy the oaks. (You can get new oaks for 20, that's how I got mine.) I do like northwestern much better because of the larger globe, convenient coin gathering system, and even the look appeals to me. Now there are some locations where the difference doesn't matter much. However if you are servicing the machine every month the easy open is very convenient. If you move a large amount of product, the globe size is excellent. For now, the focus is just to get any machines that come at good prices and get them out to decent or better locations. As my business grows larger I will focus more on quality, but right now I'm just trying to build a solid net income to help with my work on expanding. They might have a few items that are different than everybody else, but the bulk of their products are just resale items.

cavity
www.gamevending.net These guys also sent me some info. If you go to the site, under capsule vending on the left side, you will see the beloved 1 800 machine(not called that), and tommy Gotcha's (ditto with the name) etc... they will send you prices if you request them. The price list they sent me says $101 + shipping for a new 1 800(40' container) Just think, 1 800 sold them(with great marketing) for over $230 each + shipping. Nice mark-up, now they're millionaires.
