mxer518
Thus far in my business I have been just getting snacks locally but I know there are a lot of company's that are ordering from various company's. I was just wondering what company's you bigger guys are using and could you give me some feedback on some of them.
MrEen
We use Vendors Supply but my boss keeps threatening (usually only to me) to change to another company (can't remember the name at the moment, but I think it's similar.) Their prices are higher than Sam's Club on just about everything, but we get 2-3 pallets delivered every week. We also have a local Hostess rep deliver 500-800 pastries every week. I think we pay about 35¢ a piece. Scott
mission vending
In addition to buying from the bottlers and Sams Club I use Vistar. They are generally higher than Sam's for items that are in common but their selection is much greater. They also have things like Oreos in vendpacks and Cornnuts in 1.4oz instead of Sam's 1.7 oz pack that will fit into the augers easier and vend more reliably. In my area they have a 40 case min order to deliver without additional fee. They won't tell you this, but if you set up an account as a COD account you can then request a 2% discount off of invoice for being a COD customer. You might have to go above your rep but keep pushing and they will give it to you.
coinvestor
I use Vistar and sams. I got fed up with Vistar this week and called vendors supply. I was just flipping through their catalog. They are quite simular in pricing and selection (simular as far as vending only). JD
mission vending
Would you care to elaborate on the situation with Vistar? Just curious that's all.
coinvestor
I signed an agreement with them to buy certain items from them exclusivly (a bad idea and I knew it at the time) in exchange for more favorable pricing. The difference between the regular price and discount price would be credited to my account on a monthly basis. Until this week I was still waiting for my credit from July and Aug. After several inquires I found I was disqualified for the credit since I had bought a case of one item in June and it was a slow seller so I had no need to reorder it at all in July. They assumed I was buying it elsewhere, but never said anything to me. For the next six weeks I continued to buy the items thinking I was buying them at one price, but paying another. In the end I got my credits. FYI...... I won't sign anything like that again. They will let me out of the agreement at anytime (part of the agreement) and I will continue to order from them, just not under this program. My frustration just made me wonder what Vendors Supply could do for me. I think I will setup an account with vendors supply and maybe order from both as needed. jd
