SabreHawk
Hey everyone. I am looking to buy my first machines and decided to go with either 1800 or NW triples. So right now I have a deal I could take on 4 1800. 3 that are brand new in boxes for $100 each. 1 used for $70. What are your thoughts? Also, can I buy parts for these machines since I am not buying from 1-800 Vending? Thanks!
candyman007
Sabre, Both are very nice machines. You can generally find used parts on eBay. Although they are very nice machines I would probably only offer $200 for all 4. Expensive machines don't make more money than cheap ones and there are plenty of used machines on the market for $50 or less. Regards, Rob

I doubt he would accept $50/ea for new machines. you can always make that offer. if not then $100/per machine (new) is still a good price, even ebay can not beat that, and very few are sold on ebay at any given time. BudLeiser
If you can find them for a good price i recommend doubles not triples.
West Coast Vend LLC
I think $100 for brand new 800's is a great price. I sell my used ones for $75 easily. Brand new 800's are $279 each. Just beware of shipping costs if you are buying on ebay. They will kill you. Gary
mike777
Assuming shipping is included in that price of $100/machine or you are picking it up locally, $100 is a great price for brand new 1800s. They regularly go for $70+ plus at least $25 shipping for used ones on ebay. I might agree with Rob that a cheap machine will make just as much as an expensive one EXCEPT a higher quality machine will last longer and look more appealing to a business owner. cavity
$100 is ok. New, even better. I say go for it. Get your feet wet and see if you like vending and the 1 800 machines! A few hundred is probably not going to bankrupt you. And, you'll be starting with a relatively well functioning machine.
candyman007
$375 for 4 machines. You could probably get 12 Vendstar Machines for the same price and make Triple your Gross Revenue Regards, Rob
antoniocinisi
the 1800 machines will last longer then the vendstars.they will also have less problems, and look better even if that wont necessarily mean they will make more money they will be less likey to be rejected by the biz owner.I am not sure if vendstars come with a gumball wheel but 1800 machines do.as far as triples go the 1800 machine is the way to go,just dont buy them new from the distributer. are you picking up the machines or shipped? SabreHawk
A lot of good comments here. Thanks! I would be picking the machines up so there would be no shipping cost. (but 5 hours round trip for pick up)
cavity
Tell them a few bucks less due to the gas/drive time for you, maybe $40-$50 off the total price. If they want them gone they'll go for it! If not, it's still a pretty good deal to get your feet wet.
BnDVending
Well in this economy I would make an offer and wait. I waited for 3-4 months and found 8 U-Turn (4 of the 4 head and 4 of the 8 head) machines for $500 bucks. They were all in relatively good shape, and a couple were even placed. THAT'S a steal in my opinion and all because I was patient. I believe the person selling is going to have a difficult time getting rid of those machines, and I could be wrong, but it all comes down to what you feel comfortable with. At least make an offer, all the person can do is say no. A suggestion if I might....go to look at the machines and ONLY bring $200 cash with you. If that's all you have, the person isn't going to want to let you leave. If they are firm come back in a couple days with the rest of the offer or come to an agreement. Hope this helps save you some candy money!! Barry

Hope this helps save you some candy money!! Barry I doubt driving 5 hours to lowball and walk away for a week is a good idea. Its bad enough to waste someone elses time, why would you waste your own? And that is what the issue really is, time vs money. Sure you can wait for more deals, you could wait for vendstars, you can lowball and walk away. For a 5 hour drive I suggest lowballing over the phone. But in the end, do you want to get started? If you run out and buy them today, and then hussle and get them placed with the quickness you will make up any "gain" you could have gotten by trying to lowball and wait. How much money will you "save" by lowball and waiting? How much money will you earn by buying today, and placing tomorrow? If your really going to wait a month to save $50 on each machine. Thats a huge waste of time, you could have placed them and easily made more then 50$ in a month. My suggestion: Offer less, but take it at full price if need be. Then go out there and hussle to get them placed (I should heed my own advice here) Then buy more machines as they come along. I only have 23 locations, but I have 47 machines. And I have only been doing this for a very short time. And on each type of machine I overpaid the first time, and found steals the 2nd and 3rd time. $500 big deal. Go out and get started! candyman007
The buyer ALWAYS has the upper hand in negotiations. This person has 4 machines they DON'T WANT. $100 a machine might be a great deal but at $50 wow, you're the king! Regards, Rob

I did not read the 5 hour round trip part. I would have to agree with Bud when he said to make an offer over the phone. As far as waiting that is up to you. If you multiply $50 dollar times 4 machines, I think you will find that you will NOT make $200 dollars with 4 machines that are not placed over a one month period. The bottom line comes down to if you want a good or a great deal. As Rob said, the buyer ALWAYS has the upper hand, and my suggestion is then. TAKE ADVANTAGE! SabreHawk
Hey guys. Well, the seller wasn't interested in lowering the price. I thought about it, and decided to take the deal. I will pay for it when I pick them up. One good thing is the seller will be about an hour and a half away from me next weekend, so I will be saving some drive time by meeting him then and picking up the machines.
